The 3rd B&M Flyer

SF parks that have nearby competition usually get the new rides on a regular basis. Parks like SFEG, SFAW, SFM, and others that have no competition usually get a major attraction every 2-5 years. The reason why it seems like SFM is getting alot is because it was recently converted into a SF chain park. When they do that, they usually invest anywhere from 30-100 million dollars into the park to bring it up to par with the other SF parks.

SFM was to get a Morgan hypercoaster for 2002. All of the track and supports are already on site and the trains were in the Morgan booth at IAAPA last November. They are awaiting approval from the mexican equivalent to the EPA to allow construction to begin. They began to clear away trees before they had the proper approval and the government shut the operation down temporarily. I would now expect to see this coaster in the 2003 season instead.

Oops......my bad. Oh well. Unlike some people on this board that think making a simple mistake about a coaster is a cardinal sin, I'm glad to see others can be polite to those of us who don't base our lives around knowing every name of every coaster ever built.

P.S. Hey Jeff......is this what you meant by some of the "coaster snobs" on this board? ;)

Welcome to coaterbuzz Lallen. Anyway, does anyone have a layout shot of Medusa SFM? I've never seen an overall of it and its a bit far away for me to get a ride on. Thanks

"(I'm still mad that Six Flags ruinned such a perfect coaster with trims Another CCI down the drain thanks to Six Flags)"

RG's and JC's panty twisting contest aside, Vertigo what the hell do you mean *another*? Assuming what you say about Mexican Medusa is true, what *other* SF CCI has been sent "down the drain" due to trims? I didnt notice any on the Twisted Sister-twins. I *know* there are none on Villain. And I only recall the MCBR on BOSS and to my knowledge that has been activated since day one and *still* gets good reviews. I think your just trying to jump on the S.S. "Six Flags Haters" cruise ship. Please lets stick to cussing them out about things that thery actually screw up.

I have ridden Medusa@Six Flags Mexico three times. I only got to ride it after the trims were installed on the first turnaround. I explained why they probably did it in a previous topic but I hate to explain it now. Let me go retreave my review from earlier.....

Medusa@Six Flags Mexico Review:

Oh, one ride(story) I barely ever mention. On a trip down to San Andreas we had to make an "unscheduled" landing in Mexico because of a storm near the island. Well, I didn't get to see my blood-relatives, but I did get to meet a cousin of Six Flags . The ride itself is in a perfect/terrible setting. To reach Medusa(or any of the rides), you'd virtually need hiking shoes, no thanks to the hills of the Sierra Madres. The way the ride nests on the hillsides provides big drops in unexpected places especially the last drop, that was sweet. The trees and the huge structure that you pass through are like natural tunnel and supreme head choppers. The ride turns from its twisted layout and leaves of into some swooping dives and hill through the forest only to enter the twisted side for one last turnaround. Unfortunately, Six Flags has kind of ruined yet another woodie again, it was pretty smooth, but what was with those trims they added to the second big drop? The ride had only been in operation for a year when I rode it. It probably would have been a little intense on those tight diving drops on the second half, but that doesn't mean to kill all the speed. It took a major affect on the drop before the last major turnaround when you comeback through the structure because after all those low hill you come back up a high turn at the most rediculous speed. It's a great woodie, but I would never have put it in Six Flags hands.

By the way, have weeds become a major part of the Gotham theme? Six Flags realy loved to use it on SFM's Batman:The Ride, as they did with Batwing as well. If Six Flags is building two B&M Batman Inverteds now, why couldn't they have given a little more effort into the Batman:The Ride down there? I mean except for the drop tower and front area of the section, there is little to none of the Batman themeing, they should have just done with something original or the Mind Eraser trend instead of just giving them a chip of the block. It's like puting up a beautiful sign and theme imediately following it is a mile long path through the weeds.

Also, if you want to see more, I made a recreation of it at Coasternet.

I don't think anyone has answered the question yet. I'd like to know what other CCI Six Flags has ruined with trims?

Ah, finally we see the harm that Six Flag's name repeating has caused. This wouln't be nearas confusingn if six flags parks had creative names or held naming contests like other parks do. Back to the topic though, I have heard about the morgan hypercoaster for SFM, but nothing about the B&M flyer. How many people does SFM get in a season? I am just curious because it seems like it is the only major park in that area. There are a couple of smaller parks in Mexico City but the next largest park has mainly only second-hand coasters, hwile SFM's rides are new. It just seems weird that they are pouring quite a bit of money into this park when it does not have a whole lot of competition, while they have done the exact opposite with parks like SFEG and SFAW that are in the same kind of situation.

For crying out loud, do you know how many resorts are in that area? Six Flags Mexico is in the fastest growing city in the world and the current second largest. If that isn't worth a good park then what is?

Also, have you been to Raton Loco? You're saying that isn't competition? For one thing they are less than 60 miles from each other. That's like saying that PKD and BGW are not competition and nowhere near each other. Can you guys stop talking about places you have no clue about. Raton Loco only has two second hand coaster and is a very historic park. In relationship it's more like Myrtle Beach which contains more than one park. Although there aren't really any impressive coasters it's still an extrodinary place. Six Flags isn't pouring that much money into this park, most of what it has was there before Six Flags bought the park. Six Flags added one area and two coaster and a drop tower, whoopie!!! This park has less thrill than Astroworld.

I didn't say ruined with trims, I said CCI's that Six Flags has ruinned and I'm reffering mainly to Twisted Twins(I hate that new name)
