Talon is an EXCELLENT, unique name. Go Cedar Fair!
(Now, having said that, I don't think names like Alpengeist are bad either. Actually very clever theming for an inverted...)

What's wrong with the names of Alpengeist and Kumba??? They are unique. At least it's not like six flags with Batman and Superman for every ride.

All i'm hoping is that the people who are building it are short handed. I want to help build Talon. Getting paid to build a real coaster what could be better than that. Real life RCT. :) Even better the people who build it ride first too. :) Only if Hershey was building a Steel coaster Hersheypark is in my union halls area. :) If I get to work on it everyone here will be the first to know. Keep your fingers crossed for me. If I get to work at Dorney I'll be getting tons of cool construction pics from up in the air.

B&M may be booked, but how do we know that Knott's isn't already on the list?

The new KING of coasters:
SFNE Superman
Unforgettable!!!
What is so unique about the name Talon? We have a car on the road named the Talon.(By Eagle, a Daimler-Chrysler manufacturer.)

We also have a car named Stealth...

The perpetual myth that B&M is ever "booked" is just that, a myth. If there is money to be made, they'll find a way, pure and simple. The old line that they only make "x" coasters per year is insane.

Talon sounds a whole lot like Great Bear, which isn't really a bad thing because Great Bear is awesome, it just seems odd that Dorney would build such a similar coaster to Great Bear so close to it. Hershey and Dorney are what, an hour apart?
Maybe in 2002 Dorney will build a dueling racing GCI. ;)

IMO Great Bear and Top Gun(PGA) are the worst of the B+M inverts out there.(they aren't really bad, but from what I've seen, the other B+M's look better)

Maybe it's just me, but I enjoyed Great Bear, liking it more than even Montu, Alpengeist, or either of the Batmans I've been on. And I liked PGA's Top Gun even more than Great Bear. Of course, I find actually RIDING a coaster helps in making comparisons, and I try to do that before criticizing one.

Isn't Talon a name of a car????
Does this mean CF might have a new sponsor in the wings????

Hear, hear, Spewey! You are are so correct, you GOTTA ride em!
(As for the orginal subject matter I look foward to Talon... B & M's inverteds all have their merits, plus I really like Great Bear and PGA's Top Gun as well.)
As I've learned from my coaster trips, a coaster can look great via pics or specs and deliver nothing, or a coaster can be superhyped and hardly deliver. On the other hand little known gems can blow you away!
The only way to know is to ride 'em!

"FEAR the Four!"
I got one right here. Dorney sent it with the paper to renew the season pass.
Brief layout description.
leave station and hit the lift. turn right and drop 135 ft. int verticle loop. Climb up another hill and into the in line twist. Dive down and Enter an Immleman. turn to the left and climb up into a fan turn like helix. Go thru a long S turn run, turn right again into a corkscrew followed by an upward helix. small dive down and up into the brakes. turn right into the station.
--That's the best I can describe it looking at the small pic they sent me. I think if it's in a real tight layout it should be fun. I'm gonna build it on RCT now.

Talon sounds like a quality addition to what is already a great park. As for Great Bear, I personally think it is a great coaster, not quite on par in trems of intensity with Alpengheist or raptor, but intense in its own right, and a perfect "family" addtion to a "family" park. BTW, the Eagle car line, which made the Talon, is, I belive, gone in a move by Chrystler headquarters long before the merger with Daimler. If I am wrong, please tell be in a plesant way. Thanks.
