Talon

I am so excited about riding Dorney's new invert.
Visit the park every year and think it is going to be a great addition to the park. If only they got rid of Hercules...

"FEAR the Four!"
I like the name Talon. It's different. Instead of naming it right after the bird, they name it after a body part of the bird.

Here's something I've heard in relation to Cedar Fair coasters. Take this as a grain of salt and maybe we can get some clarification from Jeff on this.

Now that Cedar Fair has put a hypercoaster in most of their parks look for them to start adding inverts to them now as well, also with the naming of the coasters expect them to have somethin to do with birds in respect to the raptor.

Again, I don't have a clue how true that is, but its what I've heard. (Yes and I know those who talk don't know, and those who know don't talk.)

Does that mean that Knott's is getting an Invert and a Hyper???? If that happens Knott's will be my new #1 park. Sorry SFMM!!!!

Parking passes do not transfer from park to park, only admission passes.

Regarding Knott's, it's my understanding from People Who KnowTM that Knott's is planning a big hyper-ish coaster. The manufacturer is unclear, but if I had to guess I'd say Intamin or B&M (only because that's who they've worked with the last few years).

Anyone know about the color scheme for the coaster. The mentioned the color of the trains, but what about the Track and Supports?

BMCOASTER
The press release says it will have orange and yellow track.
I like the idea of Cedar Fair naming similar rides with related (but not identical) names. It makes it much easier when talking about the rides, unlike a certain chain where everything is Batman or Superman. The similar names (Like Raptor and Talon) tie the park together without making them clones of each other.
Christiaan V. -- The press release said Talon's track would be orange and yellow, but didn't say anything about the supports. So who knows. It does sound like a great, compact ride. Also, no mid course block brakes is a plus. The only downfall of the ride I can see at this time is the S Curve between the helix after the Immelmann and the corkscrew. Everything else looks great!
By the way, Chris, when are you gonna come back and work the Bull? Haven't seen you in a while! :)
According to my source, Knott's will drop serious hints of their next coaster in January at the Winter Coaster Solace. But yes, the coaster has been on the drawing boards for nearly 2 years now, so i'd say hopefully we'll see a 200-plus foot hyper at Knott's in early 2002.

I think the S-curve is a plus. That's the only sensation on inverted coasters that still gives me the tingly feeling in my butt (you know the one). Raptor and Alpengeist both have this following their cobra rolls climbing to the mid-course block.

Sorry, I missed the part about the track color.

Hey Legendary Joe - I may make an appearance this weekend. Keep your eyes peeled. How does Sunday sound?

So the Talon of Raptor, huh? Sounds catchy!

I am happy as long as if the CF parks start to get standups they don't name them the Cockroach or Grasshopper.

DOWN WITH TRIM BRAKES!
Ok people. I have a question. I think Talon is a pretty cool name. But my one friend thinks its a weak name. What do you people think?

DorneyJunkie
hey, its better than a stupid name like alpengeist or kumba.

Reagarding Jeff's post about Knott's hyper, would it be possible that Morgan would be making the coaster as B&M looks booked solid for the next few years?
