Taking Over The Wild Rumors!

I got a little suggestion that might be stupid, but worth mentioning.

Since ThrillRide has closed its doors... it leaves a lot of "buzzers" & coaster enthusiasts nowhere to turn to for some wild rumors.

Since Coasterbuzz (Jeff) is deciding to do away with the regular rumors, how about replacing them with a "Wild Rumors" report on a weekly basis almost taking over the job ThrillRide did??

It may/may not fit the style of this web site, since it was used mostly for entertainment. But fact is, it would not only bring up the popularity of this site, but would make for just some fun reading!

I know that you (Jeff) have some kind of standards when it comes to rumors before posting it on your web site... but hey, this would be kind of a fun addition, and I bet you would get a ton of submissions!!

How about it?
Ever think about taking that job over?
NO. That would not be good. Just what we want. Kiddies emailing in about 700 foot invisible plastic roller coasters.
It would be great to have that. Some of the rumors may be just fun to read, but others are realy interesting. Plus a way to keep "kiddies" from posting is by leting only members post.
The reason Jeff did away with regular rumors was to add a bit of credibility to the site... Adding even MORE wild rumors would defeat the purpose.

The rumors attract a certain element, like the element found on the site with all the threads we delete, members we ban and that damn JavaScript error that pops up on every page. I personally like the sort of conversation we have here, and I don't care if we ever get another member to sign up. The important thing is that the people who enjoy CoasterBuzz and myself enjoy what's here.

I've spent a lot of time in the last few months trying to make CoasterBuzz something for everyone, and I've realized that isn't possible. So at the very least, it has to be something that I enjoy. Otherwise, why bother? As it is, I work for someone else in my day job. Why should I work for someone else in my leisure time?

WR/RN's was fun to read, but I felt that Robert should've exercised some better editorial control. There were some things you were reading that just sounded implausible and impossible. When the site was overhauled, it became harder to read the WR/RN's also because there were so many pages. I think the last update I read had something like 12 pages. If you're still looking for multiple rumors that usually have some credibility behind them, I would go to Screamscape.com

Jeff, I am just wondering, not criticising, but what happened to the Coasterbuzz Rumors?

Yeah, I would like to know too. I was getting ready to look the other day and they were gone! I guess I can't figure out how many times you were wrong after all. Even the Hurler being removed and Three Coasters to CP were a bit "Wild". ;)

You should have received the Coasterbuzz newsletter 2 weeks ago in your mailbox (that is if you selected that option in your profile)

I'd like to announce that CoasterBuzz will discontinue its rumor section when the current crop expires. As the single most updated source for coaster news on the Internet, we feel that rumor mongering hurts our credibility, so that's it. I suggest Screamscape.com for rumors, which are generally more accurate and likely to come true.
