Suspended Loopers?

Craig's got it. (cough cough BAT cough)

Well with the guard rail idea its been said that it will be very hard to get the coaster to hit it at speed and there will be banging. However, the coaster could start out the ride on the guard rail and after it did its inversion(s) the guard rail would end. There would be no jerk or bang the guard rail would simply end and cars could swing freely. I do not think we will ever see one of these because they simply don't have the thrill factor of the modern coasters.
I think that it would be cool to put a trim right in front of the loop to make it swing around the top and at the bottom of the loop.
Here's an even better question. When is another suspended coaster going to be built?
When Arrow decides to. I hope that we see more of these. I don't care if there is no inversions, I just love getting whipped from side to side. I am sure a park could build a nice long, slightly tall one and break some records(if that is what they are aiming for).

Coasters- a little slice of heaven
I think that another designer should do their "version" of a suspended coaster.

What is life without geniuses?
Are roller coaster designs copyrighted?

CraigTCF, it is the park's decision, not Arrow's. I am sure Arrow would love to build a record breaking suspended. (breaking only their own record) If a park does not order one, it will never be built. The old arrow website had a section on suspended coasters, advertising them must mean they would be willing to build one. I agree, a 150' tall, 3500' long suspended would be awesome!

yitzhak1995, coaster designs are patented, but a patent cannot stop another coaster designer to come up with a new mechanism that does the same job. Look at inverteds, B&M, then Vekoma, now almost everyone has a fixed (not swinging) overhead track coaster, but all of them have a different way of doing it.

So you want a coaster in your backyard? I hope you have a big backyard.

Coaster designs are patented, but there's so much inbreeding and references to other patents that you need to be a lawyer to understand it all.
