Suspended Coasters With Inversions

They are called 'SLC's so that they don't infringe on B&M's copyright. If it did truely swing like an ARROW suspended coaster, it would have to go REALLY fast to stay 'upright' while going through inversions (centrifugal/petal force). I think this was already said, however.

No they [SLC's] don't swing back and forth, but they could given the right amount of tweaking.

Couldn't the same be said about a B&M train? You could, in theory, alter that too.

105 coasters, and the Cyclone still tops 'em all.

Sorry, now i see what you are saying. I didn't mean to belittle you in front of all of our friends.
But they aren't...that's why they have the shocks.

"...they came like a winged curse. A twin plague of demonic dragons!" - Dueling Dragons

LoL, I wonder what the technical name for the stick thing is...

It all ends in death anyways.

possibly the... hitch?
Dexter (or anyone) :
So in addition to Top Gun, Big Bad Wolf, and Iron Dragon, where are the others? Are there any better than TG and BBW ?

Suspended coasters
-------------
TOGO!
When I look up " Togo " on the coaster index it finds nothing. What's the name and where is it ?

TOGO! is his signature.

Vekoma also makes Suspended coasters and no they are not SLC's.

The Beast and Night, They go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly

Duh. That wasn't too bright. Let's try again. When I go to that Suspended Coasters index, I get a lot of Saturators and Scooby Doos, etc., which aren't quite the same thing as a PKI Top Gun or CP Iron Dragon or BGW Big Bad Wolf. What are the other top coasters that hang down in cars that swing out but do not invert and come somewhat close to PKI Top Gun or BGW Big Bad Wolf ?

There are only ten Arrow suspendeds. Top Gun at PKI, Iron Dragon at CP, XLR-8 at SFAW, Vortex at PCW, Ninja at SFMM, Vampire at Chessington in the UK, Big Bad Wolf at BGW, Eagle Fortress at Everland in South Korea, Hayabusa at Tokyo SummerLand, and the now gone Bat at PKI which was teh first and had to be taken down because of poor design.

Vekoma's suspendeds are very similar but I am not sure of their locations, there are 4 though.

Here is a condensed list of just the Vekoma suspended coasters:

http://www.rcdb.com/result.htm?coastername=&park=&type=1&category=6&contact=7&status=&state=&country=&column=1%2C10%2C3%2C4%2C5&order=1%2C2

So if you add these four to the ten listed above, these are the 'true' suspended coasters that are referred to in the topic to this thread.

There are only three Vekoma suspendeds. The Hanging Coaster at Dream World and Centrifuge at World Expo Park are one in the same (it was relocated from WEP to DW).

The Other Siebert

There is a significant difference between a Vekoma SLC and a B&M invert. That being that the Vekoma DO swing side to side. The reason you dont notice this is that there are strong Dampers that resist the swinging motion. It was really an ingenious way to work around B&Ms claims of a seat "Rigidly Attached" to the moving bogie.

I'm not sure what's up with the intamins though...

"To get into this head of mine, would take a monkey-wrench, and a lot of wine" Res How I Do

I could see an suspended doing a vertical loop, the G's would not let it swing during one. But it would be to much weight on the cars.

"The fish are eating the guest, sir

So is it generally agreed that Top Gun and BBW are the top two in this country?

Top Gun is a really nice ride.

WAFFLES ARE COOL.

-----------------
Arrow Engineer: "Well, we just tested the prototype Suspended with an inversion and the car broke off the stick thing. We plan to reuse the stick things on a future prototype called a 4th dimension."

I think I could vote for Top Gun as the best suspended coaster in the country, with Big Bad Wolf maybe a close second.
Hostyl - It looks kinda like Intamin uses the same kind of thing on their inverteds. I'm not sure though. Maybe they have some strong bars or something that hangs from the wheel set to connect to the seats...;). It's crazy, but it just might work.

Call me SpongeBobAlex.

Couldn't they put an inline twist on a suspended. It would be able to have speed to keep enough G-forces needed.

-----------------
Six Flags, the only chain of parks that can manage to have stacking with a one train operation.
