Surrounding Cedar Point Hotels

Some hotels do have a shuttle but they only have them at specific times (such as at open and at close but nothing during the day).

Here's another place to look for Hotels/Motels/Campgrounds... http://www.sanduskyohiocedarpoint.com/ they also have an annual Visitor/Travel Guide that they can send out

Nobody got a room at the on-Point Breakers for $59. You couldn't get a room there for that price since the 80's.

We got a room last year at Breakers (yes, on property) for $105 a night during the last week of June. I thought that was pretty darn cheap for a room.

In general you get what you pay for (with very few exceptions) when it comes to hotels. A lower rate just means the less the hotel can do for you and still turn a profit. It comes down to what you expect.

Need a place to sleep? Then you can go pretty cheap.

Need a clean place to sleep? You'll pay more.

Need a clean place to sleep that doesn't give you heebie jeebies? You pay a little more.

Need a clean place to sleep that doesn't give you heebie jeebies and you're actually willing to use the shower? You'll pay a little more.

I tend to be a tad picky when it comes to hotels.

About the cheapest "chain" is probably the Rodeway on Milan Rd. - and it shows.

The Rodeway is infested with spiders, the showers have horrible water pressure, and the furniture is falling to pieces. The Ramada off the turnpike is cheap and nice, but Breakers Express is always the best way to go in my opinion...and the rates are very reasonable if you book early.

Has anyone stayed at that "Bear" place (sorry, forgot the real name) with the indoor waterslides and lazy river? It looks pretty cool. :-)

Keeping Youngstown Living Exciting

Since I don't feel the need to start another thread.... I was just wondering when do you think places such as Camper Village would start to fill up on reservations.

My family and I are going sometime at the end of July. Do you think we should go ahead and make reservations for Camper Village?

Thanks

As long as you are definitely going, I'd go ahead and reserve now. Resorts allows you to change researvations more or less at will without cost. So, if you decide later to change the trip dates, you can as long as the campsites are not completely booked. Cancelling a hotel room at any time will set you back $25; one night's stay if you are within 3 days of the reservation. I'm not sure, but I would assume the same policy applies to the campsites.

PS: I'm also interested in hearing about Great Bear Lodge. We're thinking of using that as our excuse to go in April to process passes. If it doesn't warm up soon, we might be there a lot sooner; I can't take much more of this cold!

Well Brian, not every hotel will charge you $25 or one nights stay if you are within 3 days of the reservation. Actually a lot will let you cancel within 24 hours and I have even seen several that let you cancel up to 6pm that day. So it is a safe bet to go ahead and make reservations now and then cancel it later if you dont need it (just remember to cancel it so you dont get charged!)
