Superman SFNE vs SFA ??

Well, for the past 2 years I have been REALLY scared to try a hyper coaster (don't ask why because I REALLY don't know!), but on monday (7-7-03) I finally did ride the Superman at SFA and now I can't wait until my semi-annual trip to Massachusetts because my family ALWAYS goes to SFNE. Well, since I am SO excited and I really can't wait to finally ride the Superman in SFNE, I was wondering if anyone on here has ridden both and would like to compare them for me to atleast help me not to go crazy before I get up there! Thanks a bunch in advance!

I've been to SFNE, nice park but of course the man of steel was closed because of the cr.....nevermind.

It has been rated, along with MF, as the top steel coaster in the world. Some friends of ours went there and they said it was insane. Batman looks real fun too. Have fun...I wish I could have gone on it.

I haven't been on SROS @ SFA but I have been on the one @ SFDL. DL's is just like SFA's just a mirror image, at the bottom of the hill SFA's goes to the right, DL's goes to the left. Its just opposite. SFNE's has the same trains, about 10 feet higher, Steeper than SFA's and same steepness as DL's, and wicked longer. Airtime galore seems to be what this things about with some good g's on the turn around and ending to the ride.
Have fun!

I go to the point each year to have their new coaster break down, thats my life. Dragster and WT may have been closed, but MF is always there to fulfill my thrill needs

S:ROS at SFNE is beter hands down. I believe it has been ranked once as the best steel coaster.

Another vs. thread. Lets see how long it takes for this close....

Actually SFA's and SFNE's are both consistently in the top ten in coaster polls. SFNE's wins out every time, but either ride is simply amazing.

SFA's is really, really good. But SFNE's is truly deserving of the praise it gets. Both top ten quality.

SFA's is *still* my number 3 steelie....only SFNE's and X top it in my book....although, Apollo *did* give SFA's a run for the money at Con....

SFNE's....that thing is just plain wrong....in ALL the right ways...:)

Is SFDL's really steeper than SFA's?

SFNE's runs with 9 car trains while SFA's and SFDL's runs with 8's.

The tunnels, the consistant ejector (in the back) and "Oh my God that hurts so good" ejector (in the front) air, the setting and especially the mist make this a ride not to be forgotten.

Being the airwhore that I am, I usually say, "Imagine SFA's S:RoS but take all the track out that was spent in the silly helixes and turn it into hills with 3rd hill level air."

Yes folks, it's just that good.

Hands Down (up) SFNE has the Superior Ride, sadly SFA's superman was in storage in the back of Adventure World 98-99 waiting to be transported to SFNE, it never happened, they got the custom model we got the mirror of SFDLs coaster.

never met a coaster I didn't ride (except Junior Geminii) :(

How were they planning to fit that layout into SFNE?

Yes, SFNE's may be better, but that 3rd hill on SFA's is the perfect hill. Still the single greatest airtime moment on any coaster for me.

The SFDL 3rd hill is just like SFA. Extreme ejection. And the best part about it? Its not painful at all! If only magnum would get new trains..Its such smooth (i said smooth) and great ride but the lapbars kill your legs.

Be sure to take some cigarettes and kleenex to SFNE...you'll need them after riding Superman. Yes, it is indeed *that good*!!

chris, it'll blow your MIND....it IS that good. I've never had expectations that high for ANY coaster, and RoS exceeeded my wildest hopes....and even fantasies...

yes, I am a coaster geek...:)

But this is a versus thread within Six Flags and not Six Flags versus umm other corporate entities, so maybe this is okie dokie.

SFNE is my vote too. SFA's is nice, but kinda dull.

Chris.. cigarettes for that "after sex euphoria". Kleenex for the cleanup of... tears.. yes tears because it's so good you cry tears of joy.

I'm not an enthusiast. I just play one on message boards.

SFNE's Superman has a much more complex and interesting layout, two mist-filled tunnels, and a beautiful setting. The 4th hill IMO has the best ejector air of any coaster out there.

Will I need cigarettes and kleenex for M:TR?
