Superman: Krypton Coaster

I have read many things on this board about floorless coasters, and for the most part it seems the general consensus is that they are nothing more than a mega looper without a floor. While I would agree with that for every seat but the front, all I can say after riding S:KC is this ride kicks some major butt! Why is there not more discussion about this coaster? It has all the elements that others do, but the one thing this one has that others do not is the terrain. Being built on the side of a quarry wall is amazing! The first drop is unbelievable. If you don't believe me, ride in the front right seat and as you make the circle off the lift into the drop, look straight down to your right and you will see what I mean!

I have ridden several B&M loopers including Kumba (the mother of all the mega loopers) and the Hulk, but S:KC beats them all. I will get to ride Kraken next week, so I will be able to make an educated opinion on floorless coasters, having ridden half of the floorless coasters in existence, but I really believe that it will come no where near the excitement that S:KC provides. Fiesta Texas has a winner on their hands, it's a shame that it doesn't get more press and discussion that it does. My advice, get there one way or another and ride it, you will not be dissappointed (and the fact we got 5 laps all with under a 30 minute wait for the front makes it even better).
I've only ridden Medusa at SFGADV,and it was awesome, i can only imagine how good S:KC is. Looks like B&M have another winner in floorless coasters.
Kraken is one of the coolest coasters i've ever been on, and yes the front is so much better than any other seats.
Ive only ridden Batman: Knight Flight
Youd think the coaster sucks until you ride it at night!!!

Let's not forget the Krypton Coaster at Six Flags' (WB) Movie World in Madrid.
I jut wish SFOG would get a floorless coaster.

my VisionLand and SFOG site
It sure looks like a great layout. I imagine not many coasterbuzzers have ridden it or it would have received more attention. Just a thought.
Coaster Nuts Right BKF is ast and better at night.
Camel,

That had crossed my mind, most of the coasterbuzzers seem to be from the east coast and ohio river valley, but anywho, those who haven't made it to Texas, I've been pleasantly surprised with our coaster collection. Especially since the addition of Titan and S:KC.
Personally, I think that Texas has the best coaster selection behind Ohio.
LoneStarGator, don't forget about the large Chicago contingent present here as well... and yes, Texas is more and more becoming a good place to live if you're an enthusiast. We need more Texas coverage here, so make sure to ride often and write lots of trip reports. Thanks!

Only ridden two floorless
First was S:KC@SFFT, second was Medusa@SFGAdv which was a bit of a letdown having ridden S:KC first. The quarry wall will make it hard for others to beat, to bad they didn't tunnel in like they did with poor ol' defanged Rattler.

All of you are lucky..Down here in the south, we have not one single floorless..except Kraken..but it is kinda far away...ok..SO I guess we do have a floorless..

Mindbender...Can you hear the Riddler chuckling?
this just makes me want a floorless coaster to replace Shockwave at SFGAm that much more. that would also put GAm up to the first park with four B&Ms! I think. anyway, no matter how much bashing they get I still can't wait to ride one.

this park is not copless so please don't go topless
S: KC is an awesome ride. IT is my number 2 only to Titan. I got 21 laps on it last week and that is with riding other rides and catching a couple of shows. The line is never long for some reason. I was thinking it would have lines like Titan since it was new. It is very underated as are most of Texas' coasters. I have to say Steel Eel is a great ride no one should miss. Also Shockwave is a great looper with lapbars. I love Texas' coasters, and hope that we get a good coaster at AW to round out the state.

TITAN Laps: 7
S:KC is easily the best coaster at SFFT. The ride, it's location, B&M's design, and the fact that it handles huge volumes of riders/hour make it a real winner for SFFT and coaster fans. It also is not a short ride (Batman The Ride at SFoT is comparatively short). SFoT's Titan is also a great ride, although it doesn't have the location advantage. *** This post was edited by gravityrules on 6/11/2001. ***
Whats wrong with Shockwave?

Texas is great. Even though Mr. Freeze is still my favorite, and with Titan coming in close second, SKC is sweet. SKC just makes you wonder if you should ride as you look at the over sized loop towering over the cliff while wating in line. I didn't think floorless would be that different form any other coaster, but man was I wrong. Although SKC isn't my favorite coaster, it is definitly my favorite type of train. SKC should definitly be gettting the attention it desirves.

What makes SKC better than Medusa West is that it has that cool turnaround and second drop after the first loop. I'll take that over an inversion anyday. That and the fact that it is built on an absolutely beautiful rock quarry. This ride is truly an adventure, especially because of the surroundings. Go on that ride and tell me location doesn't matter. It is probably my second favorite coaster in Texas, behind the texas giant. *** This post was edited by saviourmachine on 6/11/2001. ***

Thanks,
