Superman - Ride of Steel

Huh? When did this happen? What are you talking about?

It is on the same bunny hill you're talking about that a guy also was flung out of the ride because of the amazing ejector air. Did that happen at SFNE? Exactly.

The version at SFNE easily ranks as my favorite steel coaster.  I have yet to hear a bad word about it.

I have:  "Dozens injured in roller coaster collision at SFNE"  Anyways,  the ride has been fixed, and I will always look forward to riding it.  I've been on SFDL's SROS, and that won't get knocked off as my #1 coaster until I visit SFNE (or maybe CP).

"You and me, baby, ain't nothin' but coaster enthusiasts;
So let's ride 'em like they ride on the Discovery Channel"

yeah im pretty sure the people who visit SFoG will have nothin to complain about if they do complain they should be shot. lol. yeah SROS @ SFNE is definitely the best one, great airtime and speed. but the one downfall is the one at SFNE seems to feel like its loses little speed near the end not a lot just a little that you can just notice. SFDL goes all the way through to the end almost full speed. SFDL is right behind SFNE's SROS at number 2 steel, so both are great and more Intamin hypers should be built.

YES this DID happen. It may have been 1999 I saw this on a SFDL page not sure which one but if you want proof I shall be back...

It did...some fat (HUGE!) guy....
Oh yeah, well we got the one that goes 100MPH (sometimes 105, sometime 98) ;p I would still love to have a ride like that over on the west coast. Preferably So cal maybe at Sea World California (Hey, SWT has a clone of BTR called Great White, it could happen)

SRoS at SFDL valleyed in between the final two bunny hops on October 20th, 2001.
What does that mean?  "valleyed" ?

when a coaster "valleys" it stalls  before completing the entire circuit. In other words it gets stuck.
Danke,

That would mean SROS is going pretty slow over those bunny hills???

I suppose I just need to ride this thing...

Tocci55, it is REALLY hard to explain without riding, but the air is EXTREME on the S:RoS I think mainly due to the shape of the hill, and you really do slow down at the very top, but your body doesn't slow quite as fast as the train...and you end up with ABSOLUTELY perfect air....

That actually makes perfect sense.

Too bad they had to bump down to one car.....   :-(

Have only ridden S:ROS - SFNE, and it is an awesome ride with tons of speed, air, and crazy curves.  Any enthusiast should over here and ride it.  But I have to say, when I compare Superman SFNE to Millennium Force, Superman seems like a kiddie coaster.  Maybe a slight exaggeration, but Millennium is just totally all alone out front.  Nothing can touch it, not even the mighty Superman.
Another thing that makes the SFNE version stand out is the view.  Climbing the lift hill you have the entire park on your right and an awesome view of the Connecticut river on your left.
Shaggy, SFA's S:ROS is 200ft. tall (the parks' height limit), but the drop is like 197ft. You are correct that SFDL's version is a little bit taller at 205ft. (something like that). But, considering that the track was delivered for SFA's version a year ahead of time (and there was debate as to whether or not it was actually intended for SFA), you want to bet that they're are actually the same height, once you factor in the below ground portion on the first drop?

SFA 2002-What are they building?

S:RoS at SFNE has a trim right  after the second tunnel that slows you down slightly b/c the train was going like 2ft. past the last brake calipers.
It slows you down because you are going to the bunnyhills. SFNE superman rules! It's awesome going strait in the tunnel right after the first drop. And the mist cools you off on a hot day.
