stupid questions you've heard from a guest

I was standing in a line for a flat ride that was about 50 yards away from GASM (Gadv) and the three strange guys next to me said looking at the ride i cant wait to get on that look at all the loops! One of the guys w/ them said ok will go on after this. The other guys said what do u mean after what. After this! After what? This ride!! What ride? The ride were going on!!!! You mean that (points to Gasm) NO this (points to the twister) Oh im not goin on this. the two guys get so freaked out and jump over the barrier to get out of the ride line. These where 23yr. guys. Scary! lol
I hate all the stupid questions I hear.  To me it seems so obvious but no not to the GP.

Scream your coaster opinions and ideas! Its the ThemeParkBigShot!!!
I get this A LOT at Mia: I am in the Timbers station with my counter in hand, and they ask, "Have you ridden this before?" So I tell them nicely that I have however many hundreds of laps, only for them to respond by saying, "Today?!" Some people just don't know what it takes.

" Millennium Force is the tallest, fastest, longest, steepest coaster in the world. "

" Thats not even a ride. - refering to S:TE

" Does this go upside down"- Snake River Falls

" Mantis is the tallest hanging coaster in the world"

I heard someone say that Superman: ROS at SFA was over 200 feet tall, had vertical drops, and 10 inversions!

Well now I just feel stupid.  I went to CP for the first time this weekend and after all the reading up I did, I still asked someone sitting behind me on Disaster Transport if this thing went upside down.  Duh!  What a question!  I didn't even realize the thing was indoors until I got there.

If you're skating on thin ice, you may as well tap dance.
i sometimes work at the tube rental place at sfa and we give the guests wrist bands to wear in the water when they rent tubes and some of the people ask if the wrist bands are water proof.
One time when I was stalled on the lift of Apollo's Chariot at BGW, some kid sitting next to me said that Draken Fire was owned by a rich kid who was the only one allowed to ride it.
This guy at Westchester County Fair said that Doppel Looping was much bigger and faster than Scream Machine.
Once, at Cedar Point, someone in line for Millennium Force said: "it doesn't look any taller than the Magnum"

I have a friend at school who tried to convince me that Steel Eel went straight down 90 degrees and went over 90 MPH.  Some people crack me up.

I was just at Dorney(see trip report) this past Saturday, and I heard people saying alot of stupid stuff. Its just cause it wasn't crowded and I could hear clearly what people were saying around me. Most of them were little kids(11-13,) but there were some adults doing it as well. The way I look at it is that its all in fun. People are there having a good time, and although some of the stuff they say is ridiculous I think its just their way of having fun. Talking crap. Who knows I am just one observer. I am sure in my time I have probably something dumb, and not really thought about. I don't think it really matters. There are better things we can chat about on here than that.

Amen to that!

I guess I must be one of the ignorant GP then. I have no idea the height of my favorite coasters (Steel Force is around 200ft, I think Kraken is around 140 or 150, HP's Comet is around 80 I think, Knoebels Pheonix is 70-80)... I really don't care. I could personally careless what coaster is bigger or faster or longer. I ride these things to have fun... I ride them because I like them. I don't ride them and memorize every single solitary detail about them to spout off stats for the sole reason of impressing people. If people say "stupid" things in line ("does this log flume have a loop?") I could care less... if they specifically ask something, and I know, then I will tell them. Case in point, talking to someone in line for Talon, I was asked "how many times does it go upside down?" I replied "I think 5." Was I right? Some so called "enthusiasts" would laugh at me because I am so stupid because I didn't know for sure. How many does it have? I could care less. I don't know how tall it is, I don't know how fast it goes, I don't know the lenght of its track. What I do know is this... I think it is one he** of a ride! That is what is important.

I ride these things to have fun... not to learn every single minute detail about them.

Personally, hearing some of the "stupid" comments that some (but not all) of the "GP" makes compared to some of the elitist and ego ladened comments that some (but not all) of so called "enthusiasts" make... I think I would rather be included in the category of "GP".

"I wasn't always this cynical, but then I started kindergarden..."

"Carowinds was cool, but all we rode was the Super Soaker 2000..."(she meant Flying Super Saturator)

Also that Tennesee Tornado is a wooden coaster that stops at the top and launches you downhill.
