Storm Runner Grand Opening!

The OTSR's aren't too bad, as they go. The seat itself is a bit tight, but overall not as bad as the Flaw's. You would still be feeling rather confined.

btw--Rendell chickened out and didn't ride (no big surprise), but the Army and Air Guard guys and gals loved it. It was running good until the catch car caught some of its rails and ripped them up. They're working on it right now.

i think the OTSR'S are almost lap bars that come down over you with shoulder harness that are almost kinda flimsy
Just to let you know I rode it yesterday opening day and the otsr's are flimsey and they didn't bother us at all. Actually they are so roomey that you do not even notice that they are there until the snake dive, where you are out of your seat for the whole duration. The lap bar is tight, but I also was able to put my hands up with no problem at all. The only time that the otsr's bothered me was after the snake dive where it sorta bows (im sure there is another term for that but i cant think of it). It kinda made my arms hit them and im kinda sore today. The seats are very comfortable, and even for larger people the otsr's are barely noticable. *** Edited 5/9/2004 12:00:30 PM UTC by Heatherw***
Got to ride SR on Sunday. I'm a larger woman myself, 5'11" tall and I honestly don't know how much I weigh but I buy t-shirts in size 2x. The seats at Storm Runner are roughly equivalent to the "regular" size seats on B&Ms with OTSR's. I fit, but barely. They did ask me if the lap bar was touching my thighs, and thankfully I was able to truthfully tell them they were (probably the only time in my life where I was happy to have chubby thighs!). The shoulder portions of the restraint reminded me of those at Superman: Ultimate Flight - thin and flexible, not bulky and hard.

I enjoyed SR, but didn't think it was "all that". I hope I will enjoy it even more riding it a few more times. My one ride was in the next to back seat. My hubby (who is 6'4" tall) found the shoulder restraints uncomfortable on his tall frame (much of his height is in his torso, while most of my height is in my leg). I found a jarring moment or two also, as mentioned by Heather. That was somewhat disappointing to me.

WOW! Those OTSR's do indeed look more comfortable, especially for someone like me who hates getting her temples bashed around.

Looks very roomy. :-D I can't wait!
