Stopping offending posts

Offending posts and those that spark flaming are strictly forbidden, according to the FAQ that we are admonished to read before we post. I suggest that the rules apply to everyone posting, including moderators. Somtimes people say something perfectly innocent only to get bashed by other members and by the moderator, and it makes me cringe. I just feel bad for people that are made to look stupid because they maybe didn't get their idea across so well, or because they unwittingly offended the moderator (which I am no doubt doing right now).
