Steel Venom grounded?

Swoosh, way to jump on his spelling mistake. Could you not tell he meant disclose? Some of you are really nit-picky trying to be funny. I'm suprised someone hasn't yelled at valleyfair!guy and told him to use Google.

Also, it is funny that people are confusing CF rides because they have the same name. I just hope that WoF gets their Top Thrill Dragster clone soon. ;)

What's so confusing? The screenname is "ValleyfairGuy." It's obivous which park he's referring to.
I'm talking about the Steel Venom at VF. I thought with my moniker it was obvious which ride I was refering to, sorry about the confusion.
Thomas - chill out.
I'm sorry that I was so "mean," but you try writing a 12 page senior thesis and we'll see how stressed you become as well.
Swoosh, sorry, but I have little sympathy...the last major thesis I wrote (this was 1992, it was an undergraduate project) was closer to 50 pages... :)

(a more-or-less complete history of cable television, if you must know...)

If he had meant the GL Steel Venom, he would have said: TCFKASUE

Many rides at GL including SV will have surprises this season. Nobody be to depressed.

Orange seatbelts and autospiels for every ride! Mwahaha! ;)

12-page senior thesis? Haha! I've taken classes where a "12-page thesis" was due every week.

Whiner.

try writing a 12 page senior thesis

Please. And that's just the one I wrote. I've edited two more (though only one is completely finished.)

Swoosh,
why are you writing any thesis? There are websites for such things now:)
Sour Boy: That's MFOS to you! (Last two words-Orange Seatbelts)
I was just at Valleyfair! about a week and a half ago and I saw the supports sitting in the parking lot. When I went in to the season pass office to get my season pass redeemed I asked the employees in there and they said that it would open on May 15th (opening day).
Still OT:
Rideman and VolcanoTBC. This is just one of 6 that are due next week, just the one that I was writing last night was really stressing me out. But whatever you can kiss it. Rideman, where the hell did you go to school? 50 pages is a tree killer packet.

Jim, they have "screening" at Truman. Yep, they suck BHDs.

On Topic:
Steel Venom is cool!!11!1
;)

Welcome to university!

No actually I'm graduating so it should say "goodbye to the university".

Perhaps you meant "Welcome to the grad school"?

I got my Season Pass processed today at VF and the new support for the back spike is already in place. It extends about an extra 40 feet above the existing support and attaches to the track in 3-4 places, right where the holding brake is. If I hadn't been looking for it, I wouldn't have even noticed the addition.

It seems to me the front spike will be harder to attach because of the twisting track, especially if the front support extends as high as the back. That support will be much more noticable when it is in place. There were 2 cranes under the front support, and their arms were fully extended, but no pieces are in place. The new support pieces are still rather scattered around that corner of the parking lot, i.e. not all sitting together.

The new support pieces are cylindrical steel and are the same color blue as the original supports, just a slightly smaller diameter.

OT Alert: My senior thesis in architecture was a minor written paper and a major design project. My written portion was 81 pages. No sympathy here. If you must know, I researched the psycology of thrill and deception and designed a roller-coaster museum in Sandusky, Ohio.

When I talked to my friend, who is the head mechanic, I asked him about the new supports, he said he hoped this does the trick. When I talked to him last summer I told him VF finally had a thrilling coaster and I said please don't alter the ride like the park did to Wild Thing. He said if they were to make any changes they would eliminate the holding brake. I hope not I think that is one of the best parts of the ride. I have not had a chance to talk to him as of late but I think its a good sign some of the supports are in place.

Hey it could be worse!

At least now the park might get some airgates that don't have to be manually opened and closed by the operators ;)

But then again...there's still the potential for added headrests, seat dividers, and Dave Althoff's favorite kind of foam padding. Mwhaha!

I think some of the gates at CP (Mantis for sure, maybe MF too) have to be opened and closed by the ops. The difference is, we open them as soon as the train stops, not waiting for every last soul to leave like some parks seem to. As far as the automatic ones go, Magnum's still could open a second or two earlier - much like Corkscrew's do.
