Steel Dragon 2000

I agree, White Cyclone was nowhere near as fun as Steel Dragon. Since they don't let you choose your seats I ended up sitting over the wheels both times when I rode. And those helices...wierd! ;)

But I think Steel Dragon is easily the signature attraction of the park. Let's hope they'll open it up soon...And hey, as long as it doesn’t end up with cars like this, everything will be great!

Peabody:

Is this waterpark better than Schlitterbahn's (sp? to lazy to check)? If it is, then maybe I need to cash in some AE points next year for a trip! :-)

Jeffrey, having NOT been to Schlitterbahn, I can't say.... but it's not anywhere as over the top as Schlitterbahn is, from the specials I have seen on it. The waterpark at NS is wonderful, though, and very large. In a lot of ways, given Japan's incredibly hot summers (think 110+, and add the heat index - it sometimes tops the 130s!), the waterpark is the ONLY reason to hit NS. Personally, I love the park, but I am a thrill seeker, and I loved SD2K. Still, I prefer White Cyclone as well, or their Schwartzkopf launched.... Yum! :) If you think riding to the top of The Beast is a long trip, take the Steel Dragon up for 2 minutes. It's pretty mindboggling, and it really lets you soak in the height (and the drop).

ThemeDesigner Brian.... have you been to Japan? I don't remember talking to you about your trips there. If you want some weird experiences, you have to go to the off the beaten path parks. Nara Dreamland comes to mind. Or, you can hit Osaka Expoland, and enjoy the noisiest coaster in the world, Daidarasaurus. Or, the most painful (you have no idea how painful) TOGO in the world, Fujin Raijin II. Or, the greatest clone in the world, Orochi (the clone of Raptor). The reason I say it's the greatest clone is there is never any line, and it's in perfect condition, so you can get 30 rides in a day, if you want, and still have time to visit the -37 degree room. ;)

....or you can go to Fujikyu highlands, and ride the best TOGO in the world (the real first hyper twister.)

:)

Joe, I think there's a LOT more to the whole SD2K fiasco (now) than a broken wheel, or a lawsuit. Something's up.... I just don't know what.

Rob - who's now sad.

I'm jealous here! I've read all those trip reports in ACE news about the Japan trips! It is amazing how such a small country can have so many coasters! One day, I will get over there and hit most of those parks!

P.S. Anybody seen that coaster they have somewhere in Japan that runs sideways? Always thought that was a neat gimmick!

I know, Jeffrey. I'm surprised how many people have been there on here (5 or maybe 6) Now myself, and ROb didn't go for coasters, we were their for other reasons. I was performing there, and Rob happens to be married to a Japanese woman. I wouldn't go there just for coasters (money reasons) but if you are there, it's phenominal.

Oh, and IOA what? DIsney sea is the most amazing theme park ever built. (Tokyo DIsneyland puts ours to SHAME!)
