Horrible... absoloutly horrendous...
....I hated it personally, and the 3 hour wait w/ 1 side running didn't help either...I wouldnt want to ride it again even if it was 10 minuits to get o because it was no fun, it felt like you were going 10 MPH and not 100....
just my opinion.

SFDLnet: The Ultimate Darien Lake Guide.
http://sfdl.coasterbuzz.com - GRAND OPENING, June 2nd
Well in my opinion, SFDL Dude, you must be messed up in the head if you think S:TE is horrible. It's a one-of-a-kind coaster experience that you can't find anywhere else. That ride kicks butt. I don't care if you think the wait in the line sucked. You're making it sound like it sucks just because the line was long. It does not feel like you're going 10 MPH for 1 second. You have to admit that the launch is not expected. They don't even tell ya when you're going to be launched which is really cool. They just stand around and push the button when they want to. Of course after they check everything. Sorry but you should not be dissen S:TE because that ride rocks. I bet it's A LOT better than anything SFDL has:P
Well I'm not going to get into a debate over this ride because everyone has there own opinion. I find Superman to be an *AWESOME* frist time experience. The launch, the airtime on the spike and looking down 350ft below was enough to make me a fan for life. I won't wait more than 15 minutes for it because I have ridden it so many times, but it's something you have to do at least once. The technology that Intamin used for this ride is incredible, and paved the way for most of today's launch coasters. I am thankful to Intamin and SFMM for one of the biggest thrills of my lifetime. People bash this ride for the same reason many people bash Magnum, too high of expectations for a ride that has paved the way for the monster technology used on many today's most exciting coasters. Thank you Superman!

Too much is simply NOT ENOUGH...
SROS @ sfdl is awesome so you cant be "dissen" darien lake. and even from never ridding s:te i would rather ride SROS millions of times more than s:te cuz theres less of a wait to get on SROS
Oh great, here goes another pissing match. I really hope someone closes this soon, I can see where it's headed...

OK, first off, how can a park be great with only 3 or 4 coasters? SFMM is a REAL park with 15! Secondly, S:TE just LOOKS like it has a long line but it never really is as long as it looks. Since you have never gone on it or even seen many pics of it, you would think it has a 3 hour long wait because once inside the "cave" it's only like a 5 minute long wait in both directions. Where SFDL guy probably saw where the line was, was probably near Laughinh Dragon Pizza Comp. From there it's really only about an hour.
I've ridden it a few times, and I love it! I don't think I ever waited more than 10 or 15 mintues. (Don't go on a weekend!) One time I rode it like 4 times without waiting at all.
The take off is really intense. The ride is very basic, but still great. It's a super feeling to be on a big fast ride without OTSR's. The theming is kinda cool too!

Ow! My lap bar IS down all the way.

Well actually another Intamin clone almost exactly like it can be found at Dreamworld in Australia. Its called the Tower of Terror. Its a little bit shorter in height but it goes up the tower farther. Its pretty much the same exact ride. In fact some people prefer Tower of Terror over S:TE because it goes farther up the tower and it has a giant drop attached to back of the tower. Just thought I would set the record straight.
Knott's Berry Farm
Holiday World
Knobels Grove
Indiana Beach
Just a few of a LONG list of GREAT parks with only a few coasters.

Please stop talking about great parks with a few coasters! This topic is going somewere!

I like S:TE, but it is nowhere near my "Personal top 10."
Theming = B+
Speed = A+
Ride = C
Overall B-
I had the pleasure of 3 walk-ons 2 days ago. Cool! I don't like to wait more than 20 minutes for it because the ride itself is so dang short. It's one of those "Ride it at least once" coasters so you can be a fair judge.
To answer the question, yes, I like S:TE!

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
Well Superman:TE is a GREAT COASTER and anyone that says it isn't couldn't have rode this speed/airtime machine. I will not wait over an hour for it b/c I have rode it so many times and the line can get ridicilous in the summer and on the weekends. The TOT clone at Dreamworld appears to go higher b/c it's shorter then S:TE, TOT and S:TE both drop about 328 feet they can go higher for a longer drop if they added more power to the launch.
What!?!?! its a coaster??? ;)
If you don't count that as a coaster...what does count smart alec.
He was kidding man. We can't start any "IS S:TE a coaster" debate. It's been going on since 96 and it will never stop. Polls of enthusiasts showed very split results. SFMMlord, if you conisder it a coaster, great! Just understand that there are many people who consider it a thrill ride, or a freefall ride, not a coaster. Which side am I on? Who cares? I'm not going to tell you my opinion, because I don't want another tiresome SFMM war to start.

Superman: The Escape & Tower Of Terror are the same ride experience, but it ends there. Superman: The Escape is much taller in strucutural height, and it is dual track model.
LOL!!! quit yer fightn'..

Life is the ultimate roller coaster
It would be much better with a slight bump/kink in the vertical section to pop you out of your seat. The manufacturer (Intamin) doesn't call it a coaster, they call it a reverse-free-fall. I'd rather spend the time waiting for Goliath.

This Has What To Do With SFMM and S:TE???
