States lacking in parks/coasters

Vermont, New Hampsire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Maine. Yep, all the states in New England. How can you say Florida or New York? They have lots of parks.

Massachusettes!?!?!

They have the most popular park in the northeast. They're a small state too.

New York is a lot bigger. It has a lot of parks but most of them are small. New York needs a good park.

West Virginia needs a nice park with roller coasters. Camden Park is nice but thats all thats close by and it only has 2 coasters one of which is a kiddie. The nearest park is 3 1/2 hrs away and thats PKI.

Welcome back Force riders how was your ride!!!

The state that needs more coasters is obviously Canada. Some of you may not say it is a state, but technically, it is a nation state.

New York would be great with a rebuilt Steeplechase Park and B:TDK floorless style coaster.

How many rides must a man go on, before you may call him a fan?

Wisconsin need a good park. Big Cheif Sucks. Little America sucks. SFGAm is in IL an hour from Milwaukee. We need something closer, In Milwaukee.

I also think Florida needs a SF I dont know why they dont build one there. Florida is like the #1 one amusument park destination in america.

Oregon definatly needs a new park or expansion of their existing ones. All we have are a few small parks but nothing worth going out of your way for. I would love to see a new park built in the near future.

84 coasters and counting

who would drive all the way up to Wyoming and Montana for some rides? I think Michiga definetly needs help. They need to stop building houses and ad about 2 more amusement parks or something.

...AND who the heck actually thinks Florida NEEDS more parks. C'mon, man..... (Stay out of this, Bill!)

Well, you KNOW that's not entirely possible.... Seriously we don't need more THEME parks, got plenty, thanks....how about a THRILL park, based on coasters and thrill rides. Too many family rides! Witness the B&M showroom, for all its reliability and capacity, there's really not much intensity...I'd settle quite nicely for one of the FL parks to really *distinguish* themselves by adding RIDES and turning away from the theming....how's THAT for an ironic twist!

Sorry Holydumb, Milwaukee is NOT going to get a theme park. An hour is NO BIG DEAL when it comes to a ride to a theme park. The US is a big country and we're plenty used to relatively long drives. Heck, I drive 45 minutes to get to the nearest mall (Brookfield Square) and it really is no trouble. We aren't living in England ya know!

Anyway Little A-merrick-a may "suck" as you so nicely put it (I've never been there.) However they take great pride in what they have and they have some great potential. I'd rather see that park add a good wood and some kind of relatively small looper and/or a nice mine train coaster than a Six Flags Milwaukee with big coasters that come with big crowds and big prices along with BIG COMPETITION!

Last year this week changed my life forever. Please remember suicide is not a solution!

Yeah I rather see them add to the parks in wisconsin than build a new one. If they added some really good coasters. It would be really fun.Sorry I said It sucked the coasters at big cheif are just so rough I thought of my really bad experinces on them.

Montana used to have an amusement park. I believe every state has had at least one, but perhaps Alaska hasn't.
Well of course Alaska won't have one. You'd freeze to death on it. One thing I've always thought about though is building a few roller coasters, maybe not a full-blown park, just some nice rides, in Hawaii. I mean people take vacation down there all the time, why not give 'em something else to do.

-----------------

Well... technically, they have one. It's not much of one and is really lacking ride-wise, but...

My friend said that Hawaii has no parks. I would have an excuse to go there if it did.

I was doing some research for a trip and Oklahoma and Arkansas seem to have very few parks. Good thing I'm going to Texas!

Arizona. A metropolitan area that size needs a park.

Also, a park in southwestern Texas might not be a bad idea. Yes, I know, Texas has a lot of parks, but it's a big state. To my knowledge, there's nothing within easy distance of El Paso, which is a growing city. Some company might want to think about that.

Personally, I think a Milwaukee park makes sense (although I'm personally glad there isn't one). The Chicago-Milwaukee area has enough people to support more than one major amusment park. While driving isn't an issae (come on! it takes me two hours to get there, and I live in the same state!), a wise company might want to give Great America a little competition (which I would rather not see. Six Flags might stop giving my park coasters if attendance drops!). Fortunately, Cedar Fairs doesn't seem to liek to build parks anymore, only buy them, and Disney, Universal, and Paramount want to expand outside the U. S.

Massachussets has 1 park! Thats it!

Rhode Island has 0.

Connecticut has 2. ( I think )

Vermont has 0.

New Hampsire has 1.

Maine has 1. ( I think )

New York has a lot more than 1 park!

Besides the little kiddie parks, New York only has three. The Great Escape SFDL and Astroland. Keep in mind that New York is like 10 times the size of Massachusettes.

-----------------

Arkansas, we have two real coasters, and a few kiddie coasters.

New York has more than three parks. We have:

SFDL
Martin's Fantasy Island
Seabreeze
Great Escape
Coney Island

Although not a whole heck of a lot we have a pretty decent amount of parks in New York state.

Many people may not agree with me, but I think that Chicago needs another park closer to the city to compete with Six Flags. Six Flags has a monopoly(Please don't say that Kiddieland and Santa's Village counts as competition to SFGAM) in the Chicagoland area. I think Cedar Fair would be smart to put in a park in the western suburbs or elsewhere. Who knows? Maybe a New Jersey pier-type park at Olive park could be a possibility
