But Chuck, you DO make quite a good case for your *beloved* Gerstlauer trains...spelling ain't all that, being able to state your case and back it up with facts....THAT is a skill.

bill, saying that the lapbars on Gertlauers do stay put...only two PTC's I can say that for are KG's Twister and DBH here in FL....

To answer most of the ?'s I live in Fountain Hills AZ, right outside of Scottsdale. Fuinals go until about 12:00 on Friday, the only way I can make SRM is if I set up a way to take my finals earlier (I will do this if possible, but I doubt it is) or fly to Indianapolis and drive. I want to go really bad, but I'll settle for going on a regular day like I did last time, P.S. Holiday World and Indiana Beach have no lines for there coasters. The longest I had to wait was about 1/2 hour for Raven the first time, but after 12:00 everyone flocked to Zoombabwe, and no matter how good it looked I skipped it to ride Legend and Raven 20 times each with lines being about 10 minutes each for good seats (last car on Raven, and front couple of cars for Legend)

Coasterkid - fly into Evansville...most of the major airlines fly there and its only a 30-40 min drive to the park.

This thing sounds awesome. I'm in the early stages of planning a 11 park, 2 week long trip. I was planning on going the first two weeks of June but now I think I'm going to push it ahead a week, so that we can hit SRM during the middle of it.

I really wanted to drive is the really crappy thing, because if I can drive I can visit a bunch of family in arkansas and Indiana as well as hit, Frontier City, Silver Dollar City, Celebration City, SFSL, SFGA, Michigans Adventure, Indiana Beach, Magic Springs, CP, PKI, SFWOA and hopefully Worlds of Fun. Huge trip plan but it won't cost that much (except of hotels) since the majority are Cedar Fair and Six Flags so season passesd will come into play. But I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to go to SRM, but I'm willing to give it up if i can't get rid of my finals. I'll still go to Holiday World but not for SRM starts crying

Or, you can fly into Louahvul...sure, it's not the "hub city" that Evansville is, but at least you can stop by SFKK for that stand-up that *everyone* seems to love so much. Personally, I'm gonna try and get back there to ride my beloved Viper again....

bill, who really doesn't believe Viper's going there....even though it STILL is a perfect *FIT*....Thunder Run is the real reason to go to SFKK....prove to yourself that the "S-D tag" doesn't *always* spell Slow and Dull...

Agreeing with Chris (obviously in the minority);)....

You can go to SRM on Saturday, and/or you can go next year. Don't miss finals... Coasters may be much more fun, and those rides are ungodly, but you are a young'n.... wait. It will be better for you in the long run. It's only a coaster for God's sake!

*and for those of you disagreeing with me, kiss it!*

Or....you can kiss this!

I guess I'm pretty lucky. Don't have finals yet. I will make hit HW, SFKK, and PKI on the SRM trip. I won't be going to CP because of school and I have already been there and I'm going there in May.

I guess this would be a good time to say... Anyone from NC. Carpool? Yeah, I know one other person who can maybe go. Unless you're a nerd coaster enthusiast. Yeah.

I have a few general questions. It says Stark RAVEN Mad is open to card-carrying members of all amusement park-related clubs along with their guests. Does coasterbuzz work as a club and if it does is everyone a member or to be a member do you have to have paid the 20 dollars or whatever the cost was. If this isnt a club what is a good club to join. Another question, is there an age limit. One more question, The whole event is where you go and get some ert on a few rides? Thanks

I disagree, nasai ;-)

Moosh, puckering....

PS - I'm kidding, actually. I agree, finals are important and SRM happens every year.

Beast_Rocks- as far as I know Coasterbuzz Club counts. When I went to the park in July, I showed my card and got the discount. So I am guessing it would work for SRM.

Yes,if you join CB for the $20 it counts as a club. Also for events like Coastermania at CP a week later. Sure you could say SRM is just some ERT and a few meals but it is so much more than that. It's the excitement that you can just feel. Even the ride ops are totaly into it. This is the one event that I absolutely can't miss. But if you can't make SRM you should try to make GOCC's fall freakout. It's at the end of September. It's only for 1 day but it is fantastic as well.
The GOCC event was spectacular this year. The lines during ERT were non-existant and they were so minimal that they were giving dual, tri, and even quad rides! They were even turning off the lights in the stations... ahhh, good times :)

no 'moosh, GOCC (as in GOCC, er bocce ball, the Italian national gameplayed in pits), not COGG. That would be like COGGswell cogs, as in The Jetsons.

bill, who loved Spacely's Sprockets, but who's still trying to get a day at *Stricker's* hooked up with one of these events in the Midwest...we can't travel there EVERY weekend, ya know...;. But SRM is a yearly pilgrimage to Southern Indiana, and Hammersly still deserves an honorary ACE membership....

D'oh! Thanks for noticing the error. Its fixed now ;-)

But only once every year...finals happen TWICE a year! ;) But one day at SRM is still worth the trip!

Santa Claus rocks my world

Actually, in the fall it's not always a GOCC event. We've hosted MACC, too. And in 2003, it will be yet another club--they're not ready to announce yet.

No, please don't ditch finals for SRM!

A few years ago, a college student was moaning to me about his finals ... and that his professor wasn't too keen on letting him take them early because of SRM. I jokingly offered to write him a note.

Well, serves me right for being a smart aleck. The enthusiast told his professor...who said, "Have her send the letter." Good grief, I actually wrote it -- very respectful of the educational process of course, more just stating the SRM dates and that this insanity was for real.

Unbelievably...it worked!

Disclaimer: This is not an offer; simply an amusing story.

Happy Halloween, y'all! Paula
