Stark Raven Mad

I have had Robb Alvey's video for almost a year and just downloaded their 2002 SRM and I have to say I want to go oh so bad! I went to Holiday World This summer on the 3rd of July, and it is without a doubt, hands sown, the best theme park around. Stark Raven Mad just looks like a complete ball! Who could resist Riding the Raven at night?! The Raven is so great, during the day, but at night I bet it is so much better, like GhostRider, intense during the day, absolutely insane at night. I love The Legend also I rode it and the Raven about 20 times each (I spent about 9 hours at the park, rode Raven about 20 times, Legend 20 times, flume 2 times, rapids once, and one flat ride.) so all my time was coastering and I was on the verge of getting a huge bruise on my left thigh because of the insane, long lasting lats on the helix, but If i was able to go to SRM I would not be able to walk.

My porblem is that I have school until the 30th of May and the last days are finals so I can't take them off and I really want to go, but want to drive so we can go a whole bunch other places without paying for a rental car. I just want to cry. Anyways is SRM as kick butt as it looks?

Only one way to find out......and it's worth skipping finals for IMO. :) Not once have I seen a bad TR from this event. Hope you can make it.

Skipping finals? Heck, I'd quit my job. But then again, I think I'd quit my job for almost anything.

Yes. Absolutely. Even if you can only make it for Saturday afternoon/night it's worth your time.

Ok, I'm gonna ask the question that I hope someone other than me has ... can I get some more info on this SRM thing? What is it? Where is it? When is it?

I have the same problem. But I am going to take a few days off. I have never been to Holiday World though.

Coasterkid,

Where do you live? What time do finals get done? Reason being - Friday is just ERT from 6-11pm...last year, people came as late as 9:30 on Friday night....

Thanks Great America!

SRM is fun, but it's not worth skipping your finals for.

Take your finals, and go on Saturday.

Unfortunately, what was to be my first trip to HW and my first SRM (2003) is the same weekend as my sister's wedding. Too bad she isn't an enthusiast or I might have been able to convince her to get married on the Raven. Oh well, perhaps 2004.

Coasterkid: Go. Trust me.

I was considering going to SRM '03, but luck would have it, graduation is the Friday of SRM, and it's about a 6-8 hour drive down there. Then 1 week after graduation, it's off to boot camp for me. So I will probably never be able to goto SRM (well at least for 4 years). But, it does look like a blast. I can only imagine Raven and Legend at night.

Alf - Raven & Legend ERT is only at night [or at least has always been] so you cuold easily leave early Saturday morning, make it in time for dinner, a quick tour of the park, and ERT that night.

Moosh - one day of SRM is better than none ;-)

I'd go, but its 11 Hour drive, and I'm only 16. That sucks...

Looks like so much fun too!

chris, excellent parenting style there...."Do as I say, not as I DID"....that's not gonna Play in Peoria, as they say...

I mean, I also skipped "plenty o' classes", and it seems the only thing I REALLY missed out on was that day they taught punctuation....

SRM is one of those things you'll remember for a lifetime, unlike all that junk they teached me in skool...;)

Hooked on coasters werks for mi.
