SooperDooperLooper (that's right its a luv thread)

Just because your generation grew up riding different types of rides doesn't mean you can't appreciate the old classics, most of which contributed to the rides of today.

I love it!  It's simple and classic.  I would MUCH rather take a spin on the 'looper than most Arrow's or B&M's.  Riding without shoulder bars makes alot of it...  Plus that big round loop.  Plus it's at Hersheypark!

Father Lucifer, you never looked so sane. You did always did prefer the drizzle to the rain

I think of SDL as Whizzer with a loop. Now seeing as I have ridden Whizzer in almost ten years (yet I've been to SFGAm SEVERAL times in the interim) tells you that SDL isnt high on my list of favorites. It's cool, and if the line is short, I'd ride it multiple times. But with Comet, Wildcat and (my #2 wood) Lightning Racer in the park it doesnt stand much of a chance.

rode this thing with 2Hostyl back in Sep at Ride for Relief....it was my first time at Hershey...and my first Schwartzkopf coaster.....nothin but LUV for this coaster!!  the drop is a little weak, but the loop is FAR OUT!!  love those life sucking G's!! hehe:)  the tunnel is sweet, but that stretch in the middle is a tad boring...kinda follows in line with Hershey going tame on some of their coasters....and that final helix...whew!!!  at night, we rode it, and the mid course was practically not on at all....so we FLEW thru the helix....that one time, i swear it did more for me than the helix on SROS at SFA...call me crazy if you want...but yeah...Schwartzkopf rocks:)

ROLLERCOASTERS....BETTER THAN OXYGEN BABY!!!!!!
I can't help but love Looper.  It was my first coaster ever and that's with many thanks to my brother for dragging me into the line and not letting me turn back.  Where else but good 'ol Hersheypark could I do this?  I saw only lapbars holding me in and almost chickened out, but I'm glad I didn't.  I know I would have been pretty upset if they would have gotten rid of it at anytime.
I thought it sucked
Guess ya thought wrong...

Actually, there is no "T" in Anton's last name. It's simply Schwarzkopf

Besides, if we were really shutting down people we disagreed with, would Jeremy (2Hostyl) still be around? :) I think not. - Jeff 1/24/02

Wasn't impressed- all I remember about it is the braking at the end that throws your head back violently.
sdl was my 1st coaster, and I loved it.  It has become a classic with me.

I remember my dad said he would by me a t-shirt if I rode it. It was my first looping coaster and second coaster in general. I rode the comet earlier that day. I wouldnt get on the Sidewider though. I was so scared of rollercoasters until I was like 11. I remeber crying on the lift hill of SDL. Man I was such  a wuss
No it sucked
Please tell us why...

Man, I love that coaster.  Such a classic, awesome headchoppers, extreme forces in the loop, and the amazing trench helix.

It and comet are two of the greatest coasters ever made.

id rather be on a coaster.....

I'm ageing myself again, but, I remember when there were strobe lights in the tunnel. Yes, Rob A Great Bear may have been built over SDL, but if if they wanted something bigger in that area, I wouldn't be upset if SDL was removed.

If you have to figure out how to ride a coaster to be comfortable, then that's not a coaster worth riding.

Well, obviously i would be upset if they removed it, but what in the world could they put in to replace it.  The foot print of the thing is totally off the wall, and i don't see what could go in its place.

It won't be removed anyway.  Anybody should be upset to see just about any coaster go.
