I think there must not be music on rides because everybody likes different music. I would want to hear Fear Factory or something trance that's hard, too. Or maybe drum & bass, it could get strange. But I may have problems with the XTC Make Dance and Linkin Park. Even people who enjoy the same types of music can like night and day. That's why the 50s themes may do well, or the orchestration, like from Space Mountain, DLP. It's middle ground most can enjoy.
For a hardcore steel coaster like Raptor or Nitro something fom the Chemical Brothers or the "Blade" opening techno beat from the movie would be cool. For a hardcore, fast paced woodie like the Beast or Villian maybe something like the song "Halo" from the band Soil. ----------------- Bill Yost a.k.a. how could you people overlook Love Rollercoaster by the Chili Peppers? its perfect! I've found that it works on almost every coaster, especially when the train goes over the edge of the first drop and the guy says, "Oh s***, yeah!"
another song that works perfectly is the opening theme for WWF Raw on Iron Wolf. I recreated it in the demo of No Limits and, if timed properly, the drop into the flat spin comes at the exact time that the shift from the vocals to the instrumentals comes. start the theme at the top of the lift hill and it should work.
