Son of Beast Roughness

My question is SoB rougher than Pyclone at SFMM?

Because Pyclone at SFMM feels like you are going to get ripped to pieces during all that rattleing and shakeing. Once you get off of Pyclone it feels like you got beaten down by a baseball bat over and over again.

That's like asking which is worse: sex with Rosie O'Donnell or Star Jones? They're both horrid and should be avoided.
I have been on both SoB and Psyclone. IMHO Psyclone is the rougher of the two. However, it is over pretty quick, while SoB last much longer.

We'll see in a few weeks if SoB is any better.

I can't imagine a ride being rougher than the Rattler. Talk about non stop jackhammering. Especially before the reprofiling, talk about an OMFG experiance. I thought I was going to die before I even got to the top of the second hil which is when I started to want off.
Rosie or Star???

Now that's a ride that would clearly make me sick, and I even like Mean Streak.

I knew someone who quoted Gano would see the humor in that ;)

I can't imagine a ride being rougher than the Rattler.

Hey, lived across the street of Six Flags Fiesta Texas for 3 years are the Rattler was not that rough in comparison to Psyclone at SFMM but, that enterace to the tunnel in Rattler scared the carp out of me. (I had season passes to both Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Sea World San Antonio)

You crapped a carp?
The Rattler was one of the most painful rides I have ever been on, that entire blasted helix I lightning bolt of pain traveled up my spine after every bump. It is only surpassed by SFOT's Flashback when the OTSR came down one extra knot on the first batwing loop and litterally compressed my spine the rest of the ride, ugh. SOB isnt even in the same ballpark as those rides.

--Wild One (pre-retracking)

Bout to say, Wild One is crystal smooth now, I dunno how it was before they retracked it. When exactly DID they retrack it.

Wild One was retracked before the 1999 season. It was also reprofiled. It runs very well now, and is one of my favorite wood coasters.

To me, Wild One is the primary saving grace and jewel of SFA, especially since SROS's mods, etc.

isn't it rough because it's a Dinn coaster? I haven't ever been on a smoth Dinn

That being said, Star Jones, easily.

2003- Loved it

2004- Hated with a passion.

Like most movies, the sequal isn't good. I guess the same goes for coasters. This coaster is really a "SOB"

I havent rode SOB since 2001, which was I believe the year it opened? I could be wrong on that, anywho, my opinions: Yes, I found it to be rough, rougher then probably any woodie id ever rode. That being said, its still an awsome ride with some great elements. Its just not one id ride 10 times in one day. I was also around 15 years old in 2001, so maybe being that young my body was more tolerant of it. Im planning on going back to PKI sometime this year, and I cant say all these bad comments on SOB scares me, so I will definatley be riding it. We will see how it feels this time.

The Millenium Force ride Ops: Squishing you where it counts since 2000. Track Record: 89 coasters

Here is a link to some interesting facts about s.o.b.

http://www.amusementsafety.org/paramount/kings_island.htm

I came close to being on that list as well.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.

I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^^^Those are hardly "facts" about SOB.

Remember, this is a website that is supposedly concerned with amusement park safety, and then procedes to give completely random reviews of parks and their rides which has nothing to do with the safety of the parks, per se.

Take anything there with a massive bucket of salt. *** Edited 5/8/2006 9:21:02 PM UTC by matt.***

  • Associates at ASO - Safety have contacted park management several times regarding the complaints we have received about the Son of Beast roller coaster. We have gotten no actual response to our patron's concerns about the severe roughness they experienced. This could mean two things... 1) The park has this situation under control and are fixing the problems, or 2) They are trying to ignore us here at ASO and hope we disappear. We certainly hope that it is the first option, because the latter is obviously not going to happen.
  • Them look like "facts" pertaining to this thread to me.

    That's a no-brainer. Star Jones.

I don't think Rosie would have to think twice about avoiding you either, LOL :) Interesting side note: My friend saw Star Jones (is it "StaRR"? Who cares...) recently while on vacation in Miami. She asked Jones for her autograph. Star got really *****y with her and said, "I don't do fan stuff while I'm on vacation, and I don't do autographs."

All it says is that they've contacted the park and haven't gotten much of a response.

Then again, if I were PKI, I wouldn't give them a reponse either, considering that the whole operation is hilariously not legitimate at all.

I'm not saying anything on that site might not be interesting or whatever but taking much on there seriously is not something I would reccomend. *** Edited 5/9/2006 12:32:58 AM UTC by matt.***

ASO is not a real organization. Its a hobby of someone who has a lot of time on their hands.

It would be as if a handful of people from CBuzz decided to create a website and call themselves experts. Oh wait . . .

PKI ignores ASO, as they represent two people and use internet based gossip and innuendo as "fact". While they may have some points, they are far from experts or truly representative.

Sort of like wikipedia, not a reliable source of information.
