You had to mention Jones chips, didn't you? ;) Ever since moving to Indiana that's one of the things I miss most about living in Mansfield, being able to get fresh burnt chips on a Saturday morning. Oh well, at least I can still get the regular chips ordered online, but man do I miss those burnt chips!
Back to your regularly scheduled coaster discussion... :)

Wow, I didn't realize there were so many companies associated with the name Jones. Looks like I have a hard time keeping up.
(wait for it...)
Not to mention Soda. And Edward. who also does investments.
Who says products can't have the same name? Maverick is a 50's TV show and a cigarette. Diamondbacks are a baseball team from Arizona. Comet is a cleanser. Even my razor and car have the same name.

I knew that, I just got lazy because I don't dealo with that kind of stuff as much as I used to. I even had a second thought before typing my reply, but kept on going. If I had just waited one minute, I could have been edim-ucated. Thanks for clearing it all up, Jeff!

This past Saturday during a GOCC/KIC event, we were allowed in the sign shop. Low and behold there sat the huge SOB sign facing backwards. Everyone flocked to it to get a look and one enthusiass tried to even lay it down to see it all. She immediately got scolded and advised not to touch it. I myself got a picture of the "S" and thats the most I (and Im sure others) got! :)
You'd think them knowing people were coming in they would try to at least hide the sign or something if it was going to be a big deal we saw it.
I still don't understand why all the whining about SOB being history. The ride sucked, several design and train redesigns and the ride still sucked. It was no biggie to CF when the lawsuits were Paramounts problems, latest one is CFs problem-get rid of ride....problem solved.
But hindsight being 20/20 I could kick myself for not grabbing like a dozen or so cheap SOB shirts last month!! Hello EBay--crap!!! :(

^Jo that wasn't the best part... The best part was when we were walking off of Top Flight Gun Deck and we saw 2 teenage girls hop the SOB fence thinking there was no line. They ran all the way up to the station before realizing the ride was closed. We decided to wait for them to walk back down and have a laugh at their expense. They asked, "Is the ride closed". Um, yeah for quite a while now.

I can remember on the Fridays in May when the schools would jam the park for the day, and see a line going down the ramp, and under the bridge from up top Drop Tower. All I can say is man, those people are just waiting to get roughed up, on that SOB.

The whole thing I wonder with Son of Beast... is why. When you look at its design... well its a great design- not designed around airtime but around speed and fast curves. I believe the entire problem with this ride is in the wheels of the trains. Has anyone noticed that any of the tall wooden roller coasters that run on steel wheels (SOB, Mean Streak, etc...) all run just awefully... in comparison to the coasters that run on nylon wheels... (el toro, t-express. etc..) I think they could fix the entire ride by just changing the wheels... ive noticed after riding that if you sit in a non wheel row.. the pain is much less. The ride itself is NOT VIOLENT.... the trains seem to not run smoothly through its course throughout the major helixes... there is nothing wrong with the rides drops and actually everything up through the first drop and going up the 2nd hill were fine on this ride.. Another solution to the problem could be redesigning the support system... a lot of pain comes from the stupid bar being pushed into you so many times because the "rose bowl" section is so jerky
I'm wondering if OnPointTony is reading this post... Nylon wheels sounds like a good thing, besides I just want my credit next summer. :(
What does Tony have to do with the SOB at King's Island?

I just thought that KI had something to do with CP considering the whole Cedar Fair connection... :-P
Nope. (even if you do stick your tongue out at me) :)

See, I made the mistake of picking up my credit as soon as I boarded the train. By the time I got back to the station, it was gone. It's probably laying in the the rose bowl somewhere right now.... :(

I vote for that to be CoasterBuzz Post Of The Week!!
SOB is SBNO, so if you haven't rode it, you're not SOL. you're lucky!
