Something I remember about the begining of Coaster

To clarify something, the topic should be: Something I remember about the begining of CoasterBuzz.

When the site was first introduced, wasn't there a forum for every state? What ever happened to that? Too much work to moderate every board? This was just something I remembered and never really remembered what happened to it.

I remember the forums never being very popular... Wasn't there like a forum for just about every park? I think the problem was there was a few posts in each forum and by combining them all it was a lot better.

As far as I know, CB never had individual forums for each state. However, Chip Woods site Refreshinglook.com used CB for its forums to cover strictly SFO. Jeff and Chip parted ways last year and now Chip has his own forums. Jeff may correct me on this but I think this is accurate.

Before CoasterBuzz really launched I put up some forums for most of the big parks. The thinking was that if Guide to The Point could have an active forum on one park, other parks could do it. That wasn't the case. People aren't as psycho about other parks the way they are Cedar Point.

In any case, that was a place holder for what you see here today.

Ah, so it was parks, not states. I think having one forum is really a good idea though so all the ideas can clash and people wont miss things talked about in other forums.

One other thing - what was the original name for CoasterBuzz? I remember it had to be changed because it was already in use.
