But the real beauty of Knoebels is that you don't have plan ahead and make it a major event, or commit an entire day to make sure you "get your money's worth" to visit there. I can pop in for an hour or so, take a few rides, have an ice cream, and leave with less than $10 or so leaving my pocket. It's a great way to break up a long drive or a place to pop into for a couple hours on a nice summer evening without having to deal with the stress and high energy required to visit most "major" parks.
I'm about 6 hours from the place and a couple years ago I ended up visiting Knoebels 4 times. Most of those visits were of the "just a couple hours" variety as I was traveling inthe general area. It makes that long drive across PA bearable!
Well, with the Flying Turns addition, I'm a little bit scared to see what the Wood Coaster option is going to cost this year. Hopefully, it won't go up too much.

I'll second that. My first and only trip to Knoebel's was in the middle of a 24 hour straight drive from Bethel, Maine to Chicago. I didn't realize we were going to pass so close until I saw a billboard on the interstate. The free parking and admission swayed my wife to go along with the idea of stopping. We were planning to spend the night near Cleveland but we were both so jazzed when we got back in the car (we spent barely an hour in the park) we decided to drive all the way.
Halfway across Indiana, we regretted the decision not to stop for the night. But we never regretted stopping at the park.
Yes, they do have Two GREAT coasters. Twister is near the top of my list. Although I like the park, it's still just a carnival in a gravel forest with some really old restrooms.
How many chances do you get to ride anything 3 times in a single day at any of the Big Boy chains? How many rides do you get in 6 hours in the big parks? My trip to PKD last summer, I got on a total of 4 rides, counting the Eiffel tower as one ($9.75 per ride including admission and parking).
Read the TR's and see how many rides people actually got to ride between the long lines, single train op, and rides that are down in the park that day. $30-some bucks at Knoebels' doesn't sound that bad to me at all.
Heck, I live in Los Angeles. Number of times I went to SFMM last year WITH a season pass: one. Number of times spent the money to fly to Newark, rent a car, drive to Knoebels for the weekend, and pay for a hotel: two.
Wanna guess where I felt I got a better value for my money? ;)
Id consider Timberfalls the best value at just about 16 cents a ride.
There ya go! :)
Chuck
I know that, But thats the question you asked :)
Now, PPP on the other hand is dirt cheap. If I had to pay to ride at PPP I would spend one heck of a lot of money.
