Some info about Penguin's Blizzard River

I just looked at the updated park map for SFA, and Penguin's Blizzard River is a mirror image of the one shown on the Astroworld site. The placement of the ride is parallel to Joker's Jinx, and to the right of the Krypton Comet (Chaos). The colors are red, yellow, and blue.

I've known about the color scheme & location of the ride ever since it was announced,thanks to Sam Marks replying to my original thread back in february.

I doubt that it's a mirror of DF at SFAW,it just looks that way on the map because you know as well as I do that rides aren't always drawn accurately on any of SF's park maps.

I heard that the theming is actually gonna be good,they're putting in penquin statue's either in the queue area or as part of the interactive "mayhem misters" that guests will use to shoot at riders while in line,I'll be sure to take a good look at the ride area next weekend when I visit the park & will post an update for the ride in my trip report.

Lets's just hope it turnns out to be a bit warmer than the predicted mid 60s for opening day. I'm anxioux to try it, but I don't need hypothermia.
My guess is like all Sixflags' new attractions it wont be open :).

Bossstl, Thats not true Six Flags opens a lot of their new additions on time for opening day. Also sometimes its not the parks fault they don't open on time. It's sometimes due to weather, construction crews, equipment problems, etc.

Trust me when I say this,PBR won't be ready any time soon folks,besides SFA doesn't open their water rides till somewhere in mid may but even then I don't expect PBR to be ready by then.

Jim what's the weather supposed to be like on the 13th? I havn't had much of a chance to look lately because I've been rather busy lately & I still havn't gotten my season pass yet arghh.

You need not worry about getting to awful wet unless a geyser at the end gets you. I just got back from riding Diablo Falls at SFAW during the ACE Spring Con and it does pack a punch. The only actual water that you go through will be a mister at the end of the ride. To describe it, hmm... Imagine riding a tilt-a-whirl when the really forceful spin gets you. Now imagine that constantly happening all while sliding down a raft ride. After a few rides in a row, you kinda want to sit out. That naseau feeling of spin & puke flat rides really hits you on this one.

You can probably shoot for an opening just before daily operation at the park begins. Generally they schedule media days, and openings around their transition into daily operation.

the ride is more of a mirror of the artwork, I don't think it's any different than SFAW's ride. (which is getting great reviews)

Although the ride is unique and will probably attract guests, I personally think the color choice is horrid.

I do wish them a success with this attraction.

Proud A-lister!

After riding the one at AW, I'd say it would have been better to paint the ride all one color to reduce the amount of nausea. It's fun ride, but I could only ride it 3 times in a row, and the 3rd time wasn't really voluntary, they just sent us through the station.

What's the capacity & throughput on DF? if SFAW does a good job running the reide then perhaps maybe SFA might as well because the last thing they need is another ride with low capacity.
Not sure what the capacity s, but they seemed to do a good job running it. It would increase capacity if the lift blocks were automated, but oh well.

Save for Two-Face, SFA technically doesn't have a low-capacity ride. Granted, S:RoS only runs one train, Batwing runs one or two trains out of only one station, Mind Eraser dispatches a train every six years or so, Tower of Doom operates about two and a half seats, and Typhoon SeaCoaster breaks down every couple of nanoseconds...but the rides themselves are not low-capacity rides. You can thank the park for making them low-capacity.

Basically, Diablo Falls' throughput is probably irrelevant, since it's not at SFA. Projected capacity and actual capacity are two very different things at this park.

I humbly disagree about the coasters. On a consistent basis last year, S:ROS ran two trains, JJ ran two trains, I will give you Batwing all though I have seen it consistently run two trains out of one station this year, Wild One two trains, Roar Two trains and Mind Eraser was consistently running two trains last summer as well. This past Sunday is the first weekend I saw them running two trains on all of the coasters (with the exception of Two Face which is down and can run one train only) this season. I will give you TSC as well since I have never seen the coaster run no more than a handfull of times.

Come on Batwing Fan SFA, do a little research. The answer is 700/hour for PBR, since it is the same ride at Diablo Falls. The answer is here:
