SOB Question

I'm going to King's Island August 9th (a Wednesday) and I have some questions about SOB. First of all, I'm glad 2 trains are running now. Does the ride still open later than the park opens? If so, what time should I get in line to ride it. I was figuring on riding Drop Zone and Face Off first because of the low rider capacity on both those rides, but if Sonny opens right away, we might make that our first ride. What time does SOB usually open, and what would be the best strategy?
drop zone wasnt open this whole past week, sob is retarded.

(start sarcasm) Very insightful punk, thank you. (end sarcasm)

MooreOn - best chance to get an answer is to e-mail "beastmaster" or a couple of others closer to Cincinnati. *** This post was edited by Mango Madness on 7/30/2000. ***
i enjoy getting sarcasism, obviously you havent ridden sob to realize how unforgetably shameful it is(i am running out of adjectives of stupid).

From what I've heard about the SOB is it's opened all day now.
Why is Drop Zone down??
The only time I've ever heard of it being down was when that handicaped kid decided to jump off the one at PGA and when it was hit by lightning.
i have no idea why it is down, it was down the whole week while i was in cincy

SOB isn't that bad. Your expectations were far too high, otherwise you wouldn't have called it overrated. This coaster has been bashed since it opened, so how in the world can it be overrated?
no, my expectations werent high at all, the public's hype was high. "the highest, tallest, fastest, only looping wooden coaster made by werner stengle"(sp?) hmmmmmmm. then to ride it and it completly fails. i went with my church. about 65 kids went and 8 leaders. everyone rode except for one kid(motion sickness). out of 72 people, only 1 liked it. (overrated, overrated, overrated)

Thanks for speaking for the public. WOW, you can be in 100 places at once to speak for all of us. ;)
i do not enjoy your sarcasm. i dont know what your problem is with my own opinion. i could care less what you think about sob. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. this is called coasterbuzz.......these forums were made for coaster enthusiasts to share their OWN thoughts about coasters. i dont see why you care so much about what i think. maybe it is just me, but i do not enjoy a coaster experience were you go down a hill, do 2 helixes, go through a loop, then do 2 more helixes. i was not speaking for the public, i am only one person. i was however talking about my youth group's reaction which was what i said. quit acting like a big shot and remember to have FUN(which is another reason these boards were made)and respect others.

Wow Punk. I rode SOB and LOVED IT!. The loops isnt the best part. I loved the helixes and the feeling that you will hit the supports abover you! I rank it up there with the beast. And after it gets smoother, it will be alot better. By the way it looks, people like it.

Play nice folks... Agree to disagree and keep the sarcasm to yourself. You know it's only intended to piss people off, so I'd rather we didn't go there.

Drop Zone was down because the motor was screwed up but it was up and running today while I was there working.
Nothing beats, however, when you go to PKI with a ride op off of King Cobra, you know that they are trying to take it easy on the cables, and the ride op at DZ tells you that there's no problem with the cable, they just have to re-adjust the computer that it goes up slower. Which, would be to be easier on the cable! This was about a month ago, though. Don't know if it's the same reason or not.

I agree with you DLdude, I loved it also. The first helix is wonderful and intense! To Mooreon, go and judge for yourself, you won't be disapointed. ;)
And to you Punk, don't be so defensive, your right, your opinion is yours and yours only :)
thank you.........wow new forums

I can't wait to ride SOB!!!! I like to give all coasters a chance. So I am gonna try to be unbiased when I ride. My trip is like 4 days away and I already can't sleep!!!! I do have a feeling I am not gonna like the Beast. I think I am going in expecting a lot. Maybe too much. I have been on Shivering Timbers, so Beast has a butt load of competition. I am probably most excited about Vortex, Top Gun, and Drop Zone!!!

Mike -

The reason for my sarcasm was that you did nothing to answer the question raised in the thread, which was what is the best strategy for riding SOB...not whether or not you liked it or not.
My sarcasm was meant as a joke. But not taken that way apparently. I still say SOB is being unfairly bashed, but that's my opinion.
