sob not the first wooden loop!!!!

One of the turn-of-the-century wooden looping coasters was in operation for about two years. From that standpoint it was a technically succesful ride. It didn't make enough money for the park to justify its existance, earlier models had scared away crowds.

So no, Son of Beast wasn't the first looping wooden coaster. There were looping woodies before there were looping steel coasters. Son of Beast is the first looping wooden coaster that looks to be a permanent fixture, however.
RavenGuy, that is why I put that it isn't a huge success. Just pointing that out !

"Speaking of circular loops.. isn't there a coaster at Six Flags AstroWorld that still boasts 4 circular loops?

Seems like I read that they pull like 4.5 G's.

Neat, but doesn't sound all that comfortable."
