Smoothest and Roughest B&M

The smoothest B&M I've been on was Montu and the shakiest, but not the roughest, as in won't ride it again roughness, in my opinion has to be either Chang or Mantis. Granted, I would ride them (Chang & Mantis) over and over despite the head hitting the shoulder harness every once in a while.

Can you take me higher? (CREED)
roughest: iron wolf at sfga (I LOVE it though!)
smoothest: raging bullwinkle at sfga.

Smoothest- Montu
Roughest - Batman Knight Flight, when the wheels went bad, and SFO took their dandy time to replace them
Smoothest- The Medusa's, East and West.

Roughest-Any of their stand ups. Mantis, Iron Wolf, Vortex and Chang. Riddler's Revenge and Georgia Scorcher are slightly better, but all of them could rattle your teeth loose.

Thank you Disney, thank you...
I don't think B&M has rough coasters, period. I don't even remember the Iron Wolf being too rough, but I only rode it a couple times. It's hard to believe that Intamin could be smoother, but I've only ridden the MF so I don't know. So my vote for "roughest" would have to go to Raptor, not because it's rough but because of its nonstop action. It's a great ride but it gave me headaches. The Dueling Dragons also had that effect but much less so; maybe it's just me and inverteds.

As for smoothest, either Kraken or Raging Bull. Kraken is impossibly smooth and in my opinion the best B&M out there. The RB is also a very good ride, plenty of speed and air time without the spine-cracking jolts of the Magnum (I like the Magnum, it's just that I have to take some time to recover after each ride).
I can't say that I've been on a rough B&M, as for the smoothest here is my list:
1.Apollo's Chariot-airtime central
2.Alpengeist
3.Dueling Dragons
4.Georgia Schorcher
5.Medusa East
6.Kraken-my favorite floorless

if you think Raptor is non stop action then you should ride Batman, Batman is way more intense and quick paced than Ratpor.
Smoothest- Raging Bull
Roughest- Iron Wolf

I think Raptor is the smoothest B&M I have been on but yes it is rough because of how it makes me nautious ;)

RaPtOr RuLeS tHe SkY!!
I think roller coasters are boring if they don't have a little rough touch. I like all coaster makers but all coasters should have a rough spot if they don't they are no fun. For example I thought that Goliath had a nice first drop but then the rest of the coaster was so boring. Viper at six flags MM is the best ride if you sit in the first train. I really liked kraken at the bottom of the hill it was also a little bumpy which is good. All the people that hate the bumps and jerks think about the time when roller coasters were first built and all the people that came off those rides. They had neck and back problems some even had to go to the hospital.

You are right Mike Woodard, I also think that coasters should have a little roughness in them, and most do, at least, most of the ones I've been on, sans Medusa. That coaster isn't rough at all, but it's still the best I've been on. I like a little roughness, I just don't like getting beat up on a coaster, there's no reason for it, other than a bad design or just wear and tear or something. Viper was an AWESOME ride when it debuted, I remember being on that thing in the front and being wowed out of my pants. It was awesome. It's still a great ride. This past summer though, I got on it and had the WORST experience ever on a coaster, I was beat up and I had the worst headache I've ever gotten. I guess roughness is relative, since some people can handle it more than others, but me, I just can't handle it when it's bad. Peace. :)

Medusa at Marine World: the best in the west!
I havent been on too many B and Ms but i was amazed at how smooth Montu was!
It probably has a lot to do with how young it is, but I thought Batman: Knight Flight was extremely smooth. Probably second smoothest ride I've ever been on, behind Millennium Force.

"Roughest well that is easy Riddlers Revenge difinately not a male friendly ride if you know what i mean"

Riddlers Revenge rough? You're Kidding, right?
May you should pull the seat a little lower next time. ;-)

If Lifes a Rollercoaster, I want a Flawless
IMHO Kraken takes the prize for overall smoothness and an unnatural quietness although I cant fault any of their Coasters.

If there was a roughie out there that Ive ridden maybe Kumba but not by much

Finally someone agrees with me that Kumba does have touch of roughness in it.

I'd Rather Be Riding Rollercoasters
I've ridden only seven B&Ms. At least I got a chance to experience coasters designed by my favourite manufacturers.

Batman: TR, SFMM
Riddler's Revenge, SFMM
Incredible Hulk, IOA
Fire Dragon, IOA
Ice Dragon, IOA
Montu, BGT
Kumba, BGT

The smoothest is Montu, no shuddering of any kind. Roughest is the Hulk as the Cobra Roll is taken too fast. The loop after that was not put together very well as I felt some shaking in the pull-out. As for the helix around the launch tube, too fast! Last point, which is nothing to do with roughness, is kept getting sun in my eyes in the middle of the CRoll which spoilt it for me.

Still, it didn't stop me from riding the Hulk 12 times which shows you no B&M is too rough!

Home Park - Wonderland Sydney, Australia.
Whether or not it is rough, I think Kumba is one of the best of all time. It set the standard for coasters today.
Rough-Vortex at PGA
Smooth- Medusa at SFMW (unbelievably smooth)

CoasterGod, I disagree about the Hulk, I think the speed is perfect. You are right about the Sun though, in the late afternoon the zero G roll goes right into it.

I would have to say.In the smoothest catergory would be raptor and incredible hulk.the roughest was probably the mantis. The raptor is only bumpy in the backseats. The mantis was kinda shaky.
