small mistakes = large annoyance

There have been occasions when composing a post that I have hit the "submit new topic" button without checking to see if my password etc. is entered correctly. The result has been an error message along with the elimination of the post I just typed up. It is very annoying and I generally just forgo retyping it and not post at all. Could it be rigged to not delete what was just typed and simply ask for the password again? Could this be intentional with the thought that if somebody doesn't think to check their info then they probably didn't think when they wrote the post and they should try again with the hope they will put more thought into it next time?

2 ways that you can get around this.

1) hit your back button. Trust me it works! :)
2) Use a program like Microsoft Word and save it periodically like any normal person might. This works particularly well when writing LONG Trip Reports. :)

And it is actually easier to read on the Microsoft Word screen (full screen, not just this little box), plus the interactive spell checker on Word will allow you to check things as you go. After it is typed, just cut and paste into the "Reply to this topic" box on Buzz.

If it's long enough, I really do recommend writing it in Word or Notepad. I did that for my Big Trip reports, and it worked pretty good. The spell check's a little quicker, too.

Also, why do you have type your name and password in? I haven't done that on my home computer since I changed my pass when I became a mod. Do you switch computers often?

I have to always enter the username and pass too. I guess the cookie doesn't take or something. Just a small price to pay! :)

Cookies work fine for me... Are you sure your browser is setup to accept cookies?

I do tend to switch computers often but my main computer I use at work is finicky. Usually my password is entered automatically but sometimes it isn't there. It is real easy to screw up when that happens. Oh, using the back button on the browser doesn't work either. This site also freezes frequently, I can usually fix it but sometimes I have to reboot. Gotta love the equipment I get to use around here!
