Nothing much in terms of big news, but here is some info....

Here are the latest pictures. The scafolding is coming down, and as you can see, there is a great picture of a piece of track ending in a crumpled up mess.....

Hmmmm........ I wonder who did that? I wonder if he is near by.... ;)

Another person reports that vehicle testing has picked up it's pase, but don't expect it to happen 100% on your next visit (that is, if you go anytime soon).

Also, my friend who is now in the WDWCP reports that the sounds of some huge creature can be heard in the backstage areas on Asia and between Dinoland and Asia.

So, that's it for this month, more as it come available. No word on opening date, but all signs still point to the March/April 2006.

What a great-looking attraction! Hopefully this is the start of some major investment in Animal Kingdom since the park is a little lacking if it's to be considered an all-day park. I can't wait to ride it... almost makes me forget about my dreams of having a Matterhorn built in the Magic Kingdom.
WOW! I was thinking oh its just a Matterhorn wannabe. But now, that themeing looks amazing!

It definitely has a Matterhorn look but I think the ride is going to be altogether different. I can't wait!
I've got my fingers crossed for a soft-open in late feb/early march. We'll see!

Im cant wait to ride this thing. Only think i have a problem with is the themeing of the ride. If you scroll down you will see a pc of the ride from the air and only the front of the mountain is themed. This is disney were talking about. Why not theme it all the way around. Walt would be pissed if he saw this.
Because no one inside the park can see it, so there's no reason to waste money on something only visible from the air or a service road.

But, since you've got a channel to Walt in the afterlife, check in with him to see what he thinks about the new Chicken Little flick coming out. *** Edited 10/1/2005 7:39:51 PM UTC by Brian Noble***

Walt would be pissed off?

Better than being pissed on...

That saves a LOT of money. Plus, no general pubic sees it, so what's the problem?

I don't think that Walt would have a problem with it since thats how splash mountain and big thunder mountain are.

Walt died in 1966.
no last i checked thunder mountain was themed all around. i was just under the impression that there was going to be a whole mountain not just a facade

Of course Thunder Mtn is themed all around...you can walk around all sides of the ride.

Look at Indy, Pirates, Mansion and others: the facade is themed, the rest of the ride building not visible inside the park is not.

Non-issue. Next.

And why spend the extra $50mill just so the back that no one sees is themed?

I'm thankful this isn't Matterhorn. Even as my 99 & 100, It was only really worth 2 rides a visit, one on each side. Not terrible, but kinda rough.

I can't wait to get down to this coaster.

You counted Matterhorn twice, Tek?
Tek is a credit whore!
Two separate tracks, that's two credits. Same thing for STE. ;)

One attraction, one credit. Same thing for STE. ;)
Yeah, I counted it as 2 because the layouts are different, not mirrored, and the stations are not adjacent. I'm weird like that. I'll count things like Rebel Yell as 1, but Lightning Racer as 2.

Supes: The Disappointment would only be one. It isn't like they run both sides anyways...

I know, Tek...just giving you a hard time ;) I don't blame anyone for counting it as two.
Actually, moosh, I got the Idea from you anyways ;). When we were sitting at Hamburger Hamlet, we were talking about something being my 100th, and we started talking about Matterhorn being 2 sided.

But I figure I'd ridden 100 by that point anywho, I'm still uncertain if I've ridden the kiddie at Camden the one visit as a kid, and I may have ridden another one at a small carnival here at home, so regardless, My coaster count is 'about right'.:)
