Is it just me, or is CoasterBuzz really slow tonight? I thought maybe it was just because my Firefox updated itself, bout I tried Safari as well, and it's slow too. I tried other websites just to make sure it was not my connection, and also did a speed test. Those work fine.
The Vote up doesn't click either, and I tried to quote and post, and it didn't post what I wanted it to post.
What's up?
Not complaining... I LOVE CoasterBuzz more than any other website. <3 I'm just concerned.

I've got the same thing going on, Travis. I'm on Safari.
In fact, I thought I'd respond to your post here but it was so slow I gave up. :-)
Probably a server problem at Coasterbuzz's end, or something, and that's to be expected occasionally, I guess.
Want to hear about my day? First, the good. The Ohio State Fair started today, and as some of you might know we are vendors as well as exhibitors. Business was slow for us on an opening day, as there was rain here most of the morning. Things picked up for me personally, though, when I found out my miniature landscape entry was awarded Best of Show in the horticulture competition, chosen out of many amazing entries. I was thrilled, and things couldn't be better, right?
So here's the bad. On top of everything else going on we moved into a temporary home last week while our house is undergoing a gut remodel. I don't know what made me go to the basement, but when I did I found there must be some kind of leak in the plumbing either to or from the washing machine, (which is on the first floor), and water had poured through the basement ceiling onto every one of the boxes of winter clothes we had stored down there. Why oh why, with all the available space we have in that nice basement, did I choose to store those damn boxes right under the pipes and hoses? All of our sweatshirts, towels, jeans, jackets, and everything we had down there soaked that water up like a sponge. I'm waiting for my partner to get home to break the bad news to him, and maybe we can figure out what's causing it. Then I guess I'll start on the heinous task of having to get those clothes in the dryer before they have a chance to mold or something. Which will probably take me all night and most of tomorrow. Then they'll probably all need washed again as well.
Then, right when I thought my life couldn't suck worse, I sat down for a relaxing minute on Coasterbuzz only to find that it's running slow. Dammit.
The moral of the story is, never ask yourself if things could possibly be worse. Because they sure could be.
Thank you all for listening. I'm going to try to hit the submit button now.
And just after I finished reading your fantastic story, I noticed that CoasterBuzz is back to its ultrafast self again! :)

I've been having issues with the site tonight also. I suspect the server is being overwhelmed by Rick's continuous posts. I'm optimistic that the problem will correct itself after the Holiday World announcement is finally made.
It was slow for a bit tonight, sorry. I moved stuff to cloud hosting recently and having some memory issues. The site is normally fast because it keeps a lot of data in memory (instead of going to the database every time), but I normally don't pay for a lot of memory. I scaled it up for now, so it should be fine.
Your CoasterBuzz Club dollars at work!

Thank you. Having a site that is technically excellent really isn't something people can see, but it makes me happy. People do see when your site sucks and has terrible performance though. Trying to keep that to a minimum. :)

On an un-related but maybe not un-related note, the site errors I've been getting on my Macs and iDevices seem to have disappeared since last night's move.
I didn't move last night... it was about two months ago now. What you're seeing is probably a browser update or something.

Whatever it is, it was happening all day yesterday, and it disappeared once the slowness stopped. I haven't updated my browsers on any of my devices, so who knows - I'm just happy that it's not doing it anymore.
Firefox did have an update yesterday. Mine updates automatically. Perhaps that is what is going on, Josh.

There has been so many times that I have wanted to quit Firefox and start using Safari exclusively. I do love Apple. I've been happy with Firefox lately though. I still use Safari for ishts and giggles every once in a while. :D
I know exactly where you are coming from though. I like how my iPod works with my iMac, and I love Mac software like Logic and iMovie. I swear, one more time that Firefox stops working right and that'll be the end of me using it. I'm really just looking for a reason to switch to Safari. :)
I'm needing a new iPod soon, and I'm seriously considering an iPhone instead. I don't like to talk on the phone, and I haven't had a cell phone for many years. I could afford it. I just don't know if I would use the features it has compared to a new iPod.
And to bring this conversation into the coaster realm, the biggest reason I want a new iPod or iPhone is because I hate to lug my big camera around with me at the parks. My old iPod only has a .7 MP camera. Yes, POINT SEVEN. The new iPod has a 5 megapixel camera and the new iPhone has a megapixel camera.
I don't really care about the talking on the phone thing. I would probably enjoy getting internet access without a WiFi hotspot though. I've been contemplating this forever. lol

Seriously, man, just go for it. You won't regret it.
Do yourself a favor and got for the 32 GB phone, though. A 16 won't play well as both a camera and a music player. You'll fill it up and then be stuck having to delete.
The only other thing I can recommend is iTunes Match - at $25 for a year, it removes the need to have all of your music locally on your device (though I still keep some on there in case I'm in an area where service sucks and I can't stream) and when you upload songs to the service, it automatically gives you the highest quality available, even if yours is ripped from a CD at really low quality.
Can't beat Spotify, either - it's nice to have the ability to listen to almost anything you want, whenever you want.
Its super slow on both Firefox and chrome

It looks like something was definitely going on last night. It's possible the machine that the site was on was failing, and it eventually migrated over to one that wasn't.

This is the only site i go on that has a lot of popup adds on it which is probably why it runs slow. Its one of the reasons i don't have any advertising on my website and i never have problems with it.

The ads have nothing to do with it. If you were a club member with no ads and were visiting last night, it would have been slow. I can see the metrics showing the slow server response times.
Software and bandwidth are not free.
