Skyrush Update

I remember the praises the Cyclone got for throwing riders all around during the ride. Apparently that's not fun now. I dig it on the Cyclone, and I dig it on Skyrush and I305, too.

Sorry, P305.

I am excited to try out skyrush for the first time in may. Hope its as good as everyone makes it out to be

Counting down the days until I'm back at Cedar Point, the one and only place to be.

To echo Vater’s comments, I also prefer aggressive coasters that fling me about. A bit of a masochist? Mayhaps. No issues here with Skyrush 1.0 says the guy who bruised ribs on Twister at Knoebels.

7 of the top 10 Coasterbuzz coasters all could be described as flinging one about so I wouldn't say that's the main issue people have with Skyrush.

P.S. I was a-ok with the original restraints, too. 😝

I love how Mystic Timbers flings me around, so that's probably not my particular quarrel with Skyrush.

The new restraints don’t stop you from being flung from side to side either. Veliciocoaster and Pantheon have some strong lateral moments and you still get flung.

Saw this comment under post about Sky Rush.

They ruined it. The laterals are super weak cuz of the new seats/restraints. You don't feel like you're gonna fly out and die anymore. You feel much more secure

I don't know about any of you but I am not looking for that "fly out and die" sensation when I ride roller coasters.

Here's another under the same post.

The sensation of being thrown from my seat was nearly gone. Skyrush was my number 3 and now I honestly don't know if it's top 10.

The sensation of being thrown from my seat was my main complaint with the ride with the thigh crushing being #2.

I loved that open feeling and sensation of being thrown laterally throughout the ride, but I do recall an instance where my son hurt his side/back when he twisted somewhat violently and awkwardly on the last turn into the brakes. That said, I've compared photos of the new restraints with the old ones and I'm not seeing how the new ones would be that much more restrictive of lateral movement. Even if it is, I can't imagine a world where the ride would be ruined because of it. More plausible to me is that internet users enjoy the use of hyperbole, hard as that is to believe.

Oh great. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to sleep knowing someone’s top 10 has changed.
