SixFlags Holland reveals track and tech specs of its hypercoaster Goliath

Posted | Contributed by ronTPV

Six Flags Holland is building a new Intamin hyper coaster with a new, unique layout. Don't be fooled by the photos and video of Magic Mountain's Goliath.

Show me the goods!

OMG, check out that layout. That's not fair, why do the parks overseas get the good *toys*:(

What are you talking about? Have you been paying attention the last few years? Europe is finally getting the quality we've been getting. Enough with the spoiled brat stuff.

Pretty sweet layout.
Who is the babe with the sword in the last picture? Good Lord!
Well, that maybe true. But overseas parks do get more unique coasters/layouts. I hardly would consider that spoiled. I only said that, cause I know I probably wont get to ride it. Nothing wrong in wishing!

LOL!

Looks like a cool design. Now I need to head over to SF.com and check out their other rides. hymmmm, frequent flyer miles?

Love the video...they used the same one from SFMM's Goliath, so we've got Colossus over to the left and everything!

I watched the video and the video is the same as Goliath at SFMM.  However, the layout they give of the new Goliath is nothing like the one at SFMM.  Why can't Six Flags come up with a video that actually portrays the new coaster?

I think the ride will SUCK!  Opps...sorry, I was momentarily possessed by an immature 15-yr-old enthusiast.

The ride looks sweet.  With Six Flags' habit of cloning designs we might see this in the states yet [STStL, anyone?].  But even if we don't what better reason do we need to do some travelling overseas?

Matthew -- who does NOT have any info what-so-ever on an Intamin hyper at SFStL and was merely speculating on a park that could use something of that caliber.

Given the number of SLC's over there, I hardly think THAT'S true. ;)

Eh...it looks ok...it is Intamin so it has to be great, but it is no Superman:Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England. ;)

LOL...ok, Greg. You got me there!!. I stand corrected.

The babe with the sword is Georgina Verbaan, known from the film "Costa".

Here are some more pics of her

Intamin continues to impress the world with new, imaginative layouts.  Kudos to Six Flags for not cloning another ride(but bad for cloning the video!)!!

it looks like SFWoA's layout
SFWoA's hyper will not be built for 2002, and 2003 is still in question. It just sounds like you mean they are getting a hyper for 2002, ;)

Isn't this a Jr.Hyper or whatever non-inverting coasters under 200ft are called. If so SFWoA could get this. :) we can hope. But I'd rather have 200+.

But back to the point, this ride looks like a winner.

I am confused. How can they show a video of a 250+ foot tall Giovanola ride as promotion for this OTHER COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ride made my Intamin??? Just doesnt make any sense to me and is half-assed at best. Big disappointment in SF PR here. I understand why they choose to call it Goliath and use the same Logo and all. Every VIPER at any Six Flags uses the exact same logo, becuase they can mass produce them using same-old designs, thus saving money on design, artwork, and manufacturing. But come on, at least DONT show a WRONG video. Lame.

My other car is a Giovanola!
Okay, maybe I just don't get it, but why are some people ranting that "we never get cool layouts like that one."  Maybe it's just me, but it looks like a modified Morgan layout--an extra hill, a few extra helices, and less camelbacks.  I'm sure the coaster is going to be awesome--hell, one of my favs, Mamba, has a very similar layout.  I just don't understand the spoiled brat grass-is-always-greener attitude of some people.
I have to agree with loadedG , i think that six flags is just really cheap , they always show superman the escape for v2.
