SixFlags Flat Rides

Its strictly a regional thing.

Im going to grab a cold one! WHAT? Walk to my computer! WHAT? Turn the thing on! WHAT? Log on to Coasterbuzz! WHAT? I said log on to Coasterbuzz!! WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?

I believe that SFGam actually has one of the largest collection of flat rides, if not THE largest. I know that between CP and SFGAm, one claims most rides and the other claims most flat rides.

SFoT has a terrible collection, and I dearly mean it. I'm just about to the point where I'd take several new, good flat rides over a roller coaster. This would help the coaster lines shorten, and parkgoers would have an overall better experience.

Right now, all there is are: Swinging ship, Sombrero, Scrambler, Swings, Bumper cars, and two boring freefalls. Now, you can't tell me that SF can't roll in 3-4 good ones for us? (I'm personally fond of Huss Frisbees!)

Mr. G: I think you meant SFGAdv not Am. I'm pretty sure that the (near) New York City park holds this advantage over the (near) Chicago park.

Valpie: What makes you so sure that a bunch of flat rides will help coaster lines? I've heard this tossed around, but I dont think there is any real evidence to support this theory. Yes, GAdv added a bunch of new attractions to "declare war on the lines", but did it work? Even *if* it could be proven that lines for the coasters went down, I could argue that its *only* because the attractions were *new*, once the novelty wears off, I think people will revert back to the coasters. I think they hold their appeal longer. Besides, I dont think GAdv has ever had all there flat rides working on any one day.

Good, by the time me and Kara, I mean SGrho, are done with you you'll be singing praises :)
Parks aren't all about coasters. You have to mix it up otherwise it does get boring going from coaster to coaster. Plus not everyone can take these new monsters that are being put in. Before SF, Riverside had a great mix of attractions that I looked forward to. Now it seems that either it's a coaster, a kiddie ride, a food outlet, or a merchandise outlet. We have to get back to the midway frame of mind and away from the thrill machine (coaster) mentality. Throw a few spin and puke rides in there please!

You may be right, Jeremy. I did no research to back up the statement, just going off something I think I remember hearing somewhere once.

As far as how flat rides affect a park, i dunno. But I rarely ride any flat rides, and I certainly wont WAIT in a line for them for more than a pass or two. My all-time favorite, the zipper, though is missing from all the parks I have been to. What a shame.
