SixFlags Flat Rides

When was the last time SixFlags got any flat rides. Right now there giving SFMM all of them to get more than Cedar Point. And when I went To SFNE last summer Twister wasent runntng. TimeWarp Wasnt running for half of the day. Tamahawk wasent running in the morning and Double Trouble wasnt running in the affternoon then at night only1 side was running, and to top it all of Superman Wasnt running the whole day either so I had a pretty crapy day. So you see SixFlags Really Likes Coasters. Oh Yeah Chaos wasent working either. (Surprise).

Great adventure got a bunch a few years ago.
SFMM and Great Adventure are comepeting With CP
I've never seen Twister at SFNE run.

Advance to "Roller Coaster". Do not pass go and do not collect 200 dollars.

Well, first of all, Double Trouble CAN'T run both sides because there is only one operator booth. Second of all, there is never any line, which would make it extremely impractical to run both sides. Also, please note that this park is understaffed most of the season. Twister ran almost every day I went in 2001. The reason Chaos wasn't running was because you probably went within two weeks of the collapse of Chaos at MA. Finally, don't forget that they aren't gonna have everything running everyday. Maintence (sp?) issues happen and you can't expect them to fire everything up for when you go.

No they are not. It's been stated a thousand times. No one in LA or Jersey is going to drive 12+ hours because some park has one more coaster or a few more flat rides, and visa versa. These are all regional parks, and are not in competition with each other. The only park SFMM is in competition with is KBF or Disney.

But... SFNE Freak I went 3 Times to SFNE in 2001 and Chaos wasnt running the First 2 times but on my third trip I was next on line and guess what happened the Restraints were stuck closed
Yeah, that happens unfortunatly. By the end of the season, more than half of the seats don't work so its a very low capacity ride. But, with no line, I usually give it at least one whirl before leaving the park.

Let's just say that the Chance Chaos's are not exactly the most reliable rides. The one at SFA frequently has problems also. But let's face the facts that most modern flat rides are extremely complex mechanical beasts, and are therefore harder to keep operating.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.
SFGAm got a handful of new flats back in '96, when they added SW Territory. However, one was a relocated ride, and since then Cliffhanger, Haybayler, and Sky Whirl have been removed. The rides they got were the Wagon thingie (Huss Rainbow, I think), "salsa" cups, and River Rocker. Giant Drop, too, if thats a flat ride. So really, they've only gained 1 flat ride in the past 5 years, due to the fact they lost 3. (I didn't count Ricochet because it used to be Big Top, before they got the skycoaster. I liked it so much better then, there was no line and I would always ride it until my dad got sick of American Eagle. I don't know why I didn't go on Eagle, but at least I didn't waste the time while waiting for everyone else.)

Have you been to SFMM, SFNEMan? They have about 7 flat rides to complement their 15 coasters and 4 major water-based attractions. It has long been a discussion how SFMM NEEDS more flat rides! They are no where near having as many flat rides as CP or SFGAm. Nor does it appear to be a priority to place any there. I cant remember the last time SFMM got a new flat ride. They've had the same flat rides for as long as I can rememeber

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

See What I mean. SixFlags is all about Rollercoasters
So, because Six Flags hasnt given Magic Mountain new flats in a while, they are all about coasters? Not that I would complain. But, SFGAm got several new flats in 96, granted that was 6 years ago now, but still. You can not and should not base your conclusion on Six Flags is all about coasters based on one park not getting new flats in what seems like forever. They might be looking for a really awesome flat ride as we speak.

I HATE SNOW!!! I am boycotting snow, I refuse to have fun in it.

SFMW has a nice collection. Did SF give them to SFMW or did Marine World have them before SF took over?

You can't spell my hometown's name with out "Lame"! aLAMEda...:)

A few of the flats like Voodo, Scat - A - Bout, Starfish the swinging ship and Jambo all existed before Six Flags took over. They were only a year old but they were there before Six Flags took over as far as I can remember. Tazmanian Devil was added after, I think.

Hmmm, then I wonder why both Great Adventure and Cedar Point are advertising that they have the most rides that any other park on the planet.

eee-yip

I'm really disappointed that SFA will be losing its Enterprise!! :-(
sigmagammarho, he isn't refering to SFGAdv and CP, he is refering to CP and SFMM. I don't think it would take 12 hours to drive from NJ to OH... unless you are my grandma. And still, SFGAdv is not the SF park that is competing with CP, SFWoA is the park that is doing that.

It may not be a branded park, but WW/EV is getting 5 this year. Don't know if they are new or used, but that's fine.
These are: Bumper Cars, Zamperla Hawk 24, a Hang Glider, an octopus (zamperla polyp, from the sounds of it), and something named the Gambler; were guessing a chance wipeout or even an Enterprise.
Add to that a few kiddie flats with a Hook's Lagoon, a shoot-the-chutes, and a mouse coaster.
One coaster out of ten new rides!:)
As far as competition is concerned, do you think that the Six Flags - Cedarfair competition would be on both a regional and a national basis? That's been my impression. how many other people think so?
