ARGHHH!!
Please don't go CP!!! Don't become another Disney and let SFWOA show you up!!! (IOA)
why doesn't the paper interview me, an Aurora resident, that's for the coaster. Almost all of the residents in aurora are also for the hyper. You see, the people that live on fairview are, well weird. They hate the park but love making $1000 on cleveland cilinic day by having their lawn used as a overflow parking lot. I think SFWoA should buy the houses on fairview and tear them down, or use it as lodging for workers.

the people against this i would think probably don't see the point in a 200 foot rollercoaster. If you can build five coasters in two years under 200 feet, then they probably wouldn't understand why all of a sudden there's a need to surpass that limit. All i can say is good luck b/c here in canandaigua ny people had bugs up their ***es about a 65 foot water slide, and that just BARLEY got passed. Best wishes to sfwoa. (alough maybe if this doesn't go, they'll give some mola to sfdl???)
What ever happened to the idea of building a coaster that goes into the lake?! The Park's Height restriction is 180ft. that lake is like 40ft deep. Why dont they build a 180ft coaster that takes a 20ft dive into the lake? same thing! It Might cost an extra $200,000 or so to make it happen but I think it would be well worth it and save the arguements, because, technically, it is legal! And how do we know that we might not get another two or three coasters added to the hyper, I mean, we do have some strict competition among Cedar Point. I think Eventually we will have the most coasters in the world at SFWoA.
I wouldn't want a coaster that close to my house.

The trick here, unlike many parks, is that the residents pre-date the park -- it's not a buyer beware situation.
I think the park's pushing their luck, anyway.
Do any of you live near a train. Well if you do you know what im getting at. You get used to them after two nights or so. The same thing would happen with the hyper.

CP in 2002, get to the point
Oh no, not the underwater coaster again :)
I live next to train tracks. There used to be a switching yard there. All day, rowrowrowrowrowrowBANGrowrowrowrowBANGrowBEEPBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. I got used to it fast. I think I could easily get used to the noise of a coaster, but the problem is the screaming people.
Switching yards don't have screaming people.

A bad day at Cedar Point is better than a good day at work.
What is the limit in Bainbridge? I think it is even more strict over there than it is in Aurora, correct?

The Pens will win the Stanley Cup in 2002!
I'm sure this won't be the park's only chance to build a hypercoaster. This stuff happens all the time, usually a bit more *behind* the scenes.

"Hi, my name is Lara Croft. Welcome to my world".
Sounds like SF is going to have to do what Kennywood did, offer fair market value of close homes. If owners reject, or try to hold out, they lose! Does Aurora have eminant domain laws? I do feel bad for the homeowners though, they weren't even told when Sea World was built.
RollerCoasterCrazy, you think that's bad the nearest hyper to me is four hours and nearest park is 3 hours.

3..2..LAUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love coasters but no way would I want screaming people screaming past my house every few minutes. It may sound like a lot of fun, but just think about it... every few minutes SCRRREEEAAAAMMMMM from the time the park SSSCCCCRRREEEAAAAMMMM opens in the morning to the SSSCCCRREEEAAMMM time it closes, late at night.... that could get very annoying.
Why, may i ask, is SFWOA getting another coaster?
IMO, other SF parks need a coaster. and i would hate to live that close to a 200 foot coaster. I live 3 miles away from my home park, and I can still hear the fireworks and the trains whistle every night in the summer. My dog goes crazy when he hears the fire works and wakes the whole street up. Trust me, you would be annoyed.
i know exactly where fairview is, they wouldn't even see it, or hear it, unless they cut down a lot of trees. However, i would be able to see it when i live a couple miles away (can see batman from road next to mine:)) I think this would be awesome.

why couldnt they build sound barriers or put a tunnel in were the coaster comes close to the homes? That would help the quite the noise.
I Live near railroad tracks you do get used to the sound but.... It dosen't happen every 5 Minutes too. I thought SFWOA had more land that the could relocate the coaster somewhere else.
well the sfwoa saga continues
I don't think this is gonna be a Giovanola Hyper because they said that hey are going to stop making coaster's.
No, they didn't say any such thing. That's one of those stupid things that someone made up and now everyone quotes it as the gospel according to Jesus Christ himself.

I live near train track also, and I have gotten used to them.
I believe that SF has been awefully nice to the surrounding neighbors. From what I hear they have been very impressed with how SF had handled things. I am also sure that SF would build tunnels, and or barriers if they were needed. I think the trees may be enough.
Grant: I believe SF knows how to do more than two things at a time. I sense alot of jealousy in this post. Man I love living in Ohio!
BTW: I just got back from SFWoA!

MarqMI, a man's word maybe his bond, sometimes, but a corporation's bond is money. Did anyone else notice that the women who is opposing it didn't even know about SF buying Sea World until the bouldozers where already there? They didn't arrive until weeks after it was announced, doesn't she read the paper? Ohh and Giov. is still making coasters. Their first tilt is being installed in Germany 2002.
