Six Flags to get conditional zoning certificate for Worlds of Adventure

Posted | Contributed by SuperMan :UE

Six Flags Worlds of Adventure originally said they would not add rides to the Sea World side of the park, but now say that location would be best suited for a new 200-foot coaster. The park will have to gain approval from the City of Aurora.

The park should have the right to do what it wants

Go Wolverines!
Every park, along with everyone else has to get permits to build stuff... You can't just go and make a 200 foot tower in your backyard you know.

This sounds like an "uphill" battle to me. Sorry for the bad pun, but it doesn't sound too promising if people get to vote on it. Well at least my Premier Park converted into a Six Flags park has a killer hypercoaster.
Don't count Auroran's out... I'm sure the SF propoganda machine will be in full force, and moreover, they'll realize the boost the park gives their economy.
This is gonna be one ugly fight.. considering how close there are houses to the old Sea World (like the lady in the article).. I wish SF the best of luck becuase, well.. I don't think they are going to win..

How about we all move to Fairview Road! Oh well, I guess some people just have really conflicting personalities. For me, that would be the coolest thing in the world, to have a hyper in my backyard. I guess some people don't like that concept though :(

I have a hyper in my backyard, the screams are kinding annoying after awhile. Six Flags said they would not build on the Sea World side, where is the honor. A man word is his bond, what is a corporations bond. They made promises they should keep, what a hypocrite.
I would love to get a hyper at Worlds of Adventure, but they did promise not to build on the old Sea World side.In my opinion when i went opt both the parks last year the bird show was 1 of the best shows there and Six Flags did promise not to build over there.

If they are going for 200 ft., why not go the extra couple hundred feet, go with intamin, and get the tallest coaster in the world back in ohio?

Why do they have to have permission from Aurora when the Sea World side isnt even in Aurora?
Now what is that, 4 straight years that they have gotten a new coaster????

The marine life side IS in Aurora. Half of Six Flags side is Bainbridge. The water park is considered Aurora.

On the top of Magnum's second hill I'am the one who screams, "I can see Canada!"
I think it be a good move for their park to have a coaster as tall as Magnum.
Me too, and I'm sure they will probably build another bird show.

Maybe this hideously run park should spend some money on improving staff and management before they build any more rides.

100 different coasters ridden in 16 days!
I really hope Six Flags can pull this off. The closest hyper near me is about 2 hours away. If Six Flags builds it, I would only be about 30 min. away!
I hope things don't get too ugly between the local residents and the park. Hopefully the locals will realize how important the coaster addition is too the park. Adding the coaster to the park will only draw more crowds to the area plus added revenue to the surrounding area. I can already see the complaints coming about increased traffic and not adequate roads to handle the increased popularity of the park.
