Six Flags "re-visioning"- will it ever happen?

Remember from a layout stand point that BGW was planned as a whole. SFA just grew throught the multiple lives that it has previously lived.

So far this year, I have seen a major improvement in SFA's operations as compared to previous years.

If you took Alaskaland and just themed it to polarbears, then you would really get your butt whooped.Theming a park to its own region is a very hard challenge. DCA was pretty good, but the attraction level is seriously lacking, and theming California all to Central and Napa Valley got the park a lot of criticizim.

You want to know why Busch Gradens is so beautiful? It was a zoological garden before it ever started adding rides.

I can agree with you though. Are tons of people asking about Wyandot Lake building a new coaster? If Wyandot Lake took on the Six Flags name, there would probably be a gigantic exspansion which would include a few coaster in the first couple of years. Then the park might have a couple of slow years and every one would be complaining" Six Flags hasn't given us a unique coaster in 4 years," or "They should get a B&M flyer that will soar over the lake", and even "I'm not going till they get that proposed woodie."

Now compare Wyandot Lake in that position to the Wyandot Lake now. If you ask me, some enthusiasts can get very greedy every year about what their park deserves, what they need, what should come next, or simply fliping out or abandonning a park because they didn't get a new multi-million dollar coaster this year. Have you guys who complain about theming and new coasters ever stopped to think about how much it costs for that stuff? You want a water ride like Jurassic Park. Tell me if you're gonna' cough up 4 million bucks, construct an in house project, pay Steven Speilberg to come down an design new characters and make a story line and theme, then remake and laminate those animatronic figures every other day? Most of you guys would get tired after screwing in a few light bulbs, not even thinking about putting to gether a 10 story drop.

My only beef with SFA in terms of planning and construction over the past few years is this: S:RoS was put in, and Batwing was obviously planned at least a year in advance...did ANYONE think patrons down at that end of the park might need a restroom? I mean, come on, they only cost what, about $250...;)

rollergator, Batwing was realistically not planned a full year in advance. PKD was supposedly offered the flyer, but turned it down and got XLC instead. When PKD declined the flyer, SFA accepted. There were several other proposed rides for SFA that are still on the master plan, but no plan is ever completely definite.
