I regards to the Great Salt lake being larger and the prehistoric lakes in the California desert, they were large because the climate was cold and wet (ice age). The Oceans rise as the glaciers and ice caps melt. And yes, they are indeed melting at a greater rate than they have in the past.Anyway, sure we'll all be dead some day (in regards to your resting in heaven comment), but I for one think we owe a little more to our descendents. I think the only one going nuts here is you.
Yes, we live in a world where we seem to be bombarded by political correctness. But honestly, this isn't some liberal left-wing political conspiracy to make you think the sky is falling. We do face challenges. And the whole right-wing reaction to the science reeks of right-wing media blowhards yelling for attention. Ignoring the science of man induced global warming reminds me of how, when I was studying plate tectonics, there were still some scientists who actually did not subscribe to the idea...even though the evidence and work was extremely compelling.
Im sorry, But when the media and hollywood gang up or the media uses Hollywood as a voice. THAT IS a liberal left wing conspiracy.
Sorry dude, I grew up watching Al Shottlecottie half hour news, Where he told what was going on and didn't add OPINION's to it. Just one story after another, Bam, Bam Bam. Opinions are for you to make and not for the media to give..
Trans Fat is a prime example. .
Every story starting with "ARE YOUR CHILDREN SAFE?" another.
Im not going nuts, Im going nuts on nutty people, weak minded ones who would let others make their decisions, choices and thoughts be influenced by Sean Penn, Oprah Winfrey, Cher and Al Gore.
Oh BTW, there is a site out there keeping track of Al Gore's flying around the globe, Limo caravans ect and his impact on the Environment.
It's more than some small Cities. :)

I generally hate the big-time media... nothing but a bunch of tools. They complain when athletes like T.O. talk all kinds of trash, but who's the one sticking microphones and cameras in the guy's face? Ignore him and he'll shut up! How hard is that to understand? I watch very little news because I'm sick of hearing about stuff like Anna Nicole Smith.

That's a good reason why other countries laugh at us. We, as a society, put so much emphasis on celebrities, basically elevating them to God-like status. It's all a joke. Of course I feel bad that someone got so screwed up over the years and had her life ended prematurely. But all of this crap about everyone being the kid's father, death conspiracies and crying judges? Come on.

I agree. We do elevate them to god-status. What i find funny is this: Soccer games are notorious for riots in other countries, yet not here. It's seldom we have riots at all for sports in the US. Is it that they elevate their players differantly by showing their praise in violence vs. money and media?
I hate living in Cuyahoga county. I've built too many stadiums for those whinny little over-paid steroid shootin', Nike ad'n cry babies.
someday I'll move.

Oh come on Rob, I think you're giving a complex to the States that we don't deserve. What about the Beckhams and the two Princes in Britain, for example? Every move they make has been followed and people buy the newspapers to find out the latest trouble Prince Harry has gotten himself into.
Of course now, the Beckhams are our problem due to the $250 million-dollar signing bonus that David Beckham got to play and promote soccer in the States. And since the Cruises are some of their best friends, don't look for them to disappear from People Magazine etc. anytime soon.
One of the tabloid shows (Inside Edition, I believe), showed that there were at least fourty-other countries that had news of Anna Nicole Smiths death and many of the reporters weren't speaking English.
Have you ever seen video footage of movie premiers world-wide? All the A-list Hollywood stars get the same reaction no matter what country they go to. And even if they're stars in their own country and maybe not known worldwide, it's still the same thing--common people worshiping or in awe of actors, actresses, or musicians. *** Edited 2/24/2007 12:29:16 AM UTC by Intamin Fan***
Go figure, tell me the media doesn't effect peoples thoughts about life?
