Dare Devil Dive's mission begins as you're pulled straight up to the sky on a special vertical chain lift, then slowly roll to the top of the tower nearly 100-feet in the air. After an agonizing pause at the crest of the summit, you plummet downward at an angle that is beyond straight down — it actually angles inward at a blistering 52 mph.

This was posted on SFoG's facebook regarding the error about being the first beyond vertical drop in the country:
Sorry about that. It’s the country’s first beyond vertical coaster with a PAUSE element. We’re updating our materials to avoid any further confusion. Thanks.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
Zing...
So umm...Isn't this coaster a little "low capacity" for such a busy park? I don't get it at all. Why are busy parks buying these single car coasters. The line could be horrendous, especially opening season.
I love the name, by the way. I don't care if it's recycled. That old ride is long gone.

Mystery Mine has 7 cars that each hold 8. They also load 2 cars at a time. Capacity is listed at 1000. While it is not a B&M level, I think it is respectable enough.
Besides if you don't want to wait you can always get a fast pass :)
Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.
Let me go pick some money off of my money tree to pay for that, Dave. :)
At a park that has a daily attendance of I'm guessing maybe 10-20,000 per day, a new roller coaster that has a hourly capacity of 1000 is not going to cut it, in my opinion.
I may be very wrong on the attendance number. I'll admit that it's just something that I pulled out of my, well, you know. :)
Does anyone have that information?

A ride that can move 5-10% of the entire crowd every hour isn't moving enough people?
I can't speak to the numbers, but I doubt they'll hit their official capacity, ever.
I also know that coasters in similarly sized parks with similar capacity often have super long lines.

Oh, I didn't mean Mystery Mine since Dollywood does a great job with lines. I was thinking more about other Six Flags parks that can never seem to get decent capacity out of even a 36 seater B&M or Intamin.
