Yeah the insurance situation down in the Gulf right now is anything but good. Insurance companies, as we all well know, are generally very fraudal, in that not only do they try to pay the least amount possible for damages, they have many a fine print that alleviates them from paying a lot of damages incurred.

The problem with a lot of the Gulf damage right now is that a lot of companies have fine print stating that their policies cover hurricane damages, but not wind driven rain and surge damages. As Im sure the case is in New Orleans is the same as my two aunts and grandfather's houses in Pensacola, they companies are saying this is wind driven rain and surge related, thus preventing them from making virtually any payment.

Fortunately, the judges down there are showing no mercy for a majority of these companies, as they have been dealing with so many cases of misled families and business owners. The only problem is, these court cases take time, and while this time passes by, no progress is made. SF inc should be able to wrap this up sometime within the next few months, hopefully, but as their claim is on a much larger scale than say a private home, it may take longer than usual. We shall see.

Well the good news seems to be that the insurance looks like it will cover all the damages (well over $30 million). Six Flags also has a $5 million deductible they have to come up with first. The bad news is that they still have to fight with the insurance company to get every penny of it.
Cameraman,
The amount Crazy B stated on the other site is correct. 180 mil for shure. Not including the coverage for lost revenue and maybe some other odds and ends.
It took me a year to get a 160 thousand out of my insur. company's pocket for fire damage i think it might take a little longer for 30 mill.

Just because you had one experience with an insurance company does not mean that the same will apply to Six Flags' situation. Different insurance companies, different situations, and SF is a multi-million dollar corporation while you're one person.

And just a friendly head's up--poor spelling doesn't exactly fly well on this site. There dozens of dictionaries, toolbars, and spell check extensions available for every web browser--instead of advertising that your spelling sucks, why don't you do something about it before you come on one day and realize that your account was deleted.

Oh I am so sorry I diddnt know the forum police were after me.

Well, considering that "Spelling & Grammar usage" is the first point listed on the Terms of Service page that you're obligated to read when you join the site, management appears to think it's pretty important. When you're using the internet, your writing is the only medium by which people have to make inferences about your personality and character. I don't know about you, but I take the time to read over my posts and make sure that everything is spelled correctly, because I'm well aware that poor spelling can make even the most intelligent person appear to be an idiot on the web. Add in your signature, "My spelling sucks [sic] deal with it !", and chances are that people aren't going to think of you very highly. Is that the impression you want to give other people about yourself?
