Six Flags New Orleans, The latest Official word

Regardless of some reports recently made on a local tv station that the park will rebuild and re open as quickly as possible, this statement is not official from the park.

The last official statement from Six Flags in the last few weeks is
"It could go either way".
Meaning the park may come back or the park may not come back.

Source for this "official" statement?
I am an employee at SFNO. The source of this announcement to the public was Six Flags New Orleans, Public Relation's Ann Wills.

So multiple television stations are inventing reports on the park opening asap while completely avoiding and not reporting the "facts" from park officials? Unless there are some articles posted somewhere about this? Odd.

^Apparently so^

The last official statement made to the public by SFNO is it could go either way. I got this info at work. I work at SFNO.

I did a search and found this news article.

Here is link to a news story.

Anyone who relies on the media to get "accurate" information needs to wake up anyway...
LOL

I would like to believe that we are rebuilding and re opening as soon as possible, but we are not at that phase yet. If we even reach that phase.

Thats why i posted the actual factual official statement from Ann.

Thanks for the article.

thanks.
I wonder where their logflume logs ended up?
the pics i saw had them floating out the front gate.

One is sitting out in the field behind Jester but close to guest parking.
Another is sitting in a ditch that runs along the back of the park by the bone yard.

I have plenty pics of the devastation inside the park.
It is very sad.

I hope this doesn't sound insensitive, but I'd like to see those pics. Are they hosted somewhere?

I don't think it is insensitive to want to see it.
I was very anxious to get into the park to see what happened myself.

The photo's are hosted by me in my own private photo album. Six flags would not be pleased if i were to publicly display it.

What i can suggest right now, is go to theme park review and take a look at my avatar. It is obviously quite small and very hard to see but you can get a little idea from it.

I listened to the news report with Cynthia Willard Lewis, the one that claimed the park was trying to reopen ASAP. She said no such thing. She simply repeated what has been repeated to her and us millions of times: that they are fighting with their insurance company and intend to rebuild. Nothing about rebuilding as soon as possible, no timeframes or whatever. In fact, she didn't even have a time frame on when the Walmart would reopen!

Cameraman, Sent you a PM about who is reporting the eronious information.

It was either WWL or, Well, we can discuss the other possibility in private.

Chalk that in the Post of the year catagory.

According to SOuth Park, Wal Mart reopens the next morning after any incident.
Yeah but it is true.
My neighbors were telling me last week they heard on the news the park was not rebuilding. I ask if they were sure thats what was said and they replied thats what they understood from the story.
So now one says they reopen, one says they don't and i know from being there, it has not been decided yet.

Heh, South Park is right. A couple days ago a Walmart in Milpitas CA had a Bomb scare. Even though the device was diagnosed as explosive, they kept the store open while they disarmed it. Why? $$

^and they won't even get charged for public endangerment.
LOL

when I read the topic, I expected the Lastest Official word to be: bloopbloopbloop. :) *** Edited 4/4/2006 12:46:56 PM UTC by FLYINGSCOOTER***

Wow, someone mentioned my hometown on CB! Trip out! Anyway, that's not entirely accurate. Here's the story: http://www.themilpitaspost.com/local/ci_3656134
