Six Flags New Orleans

Six Flags New Orleans has been announced go to http://www.sixflags.com/parks/neworleans/home.asp.

This really should be in news, so somebody put it there.

The press release can be found here http://www.sixflags.com/parks/neworleans/parkpress/article111402.html.

SF is spending $20 million. They are getting Batman: The Ride(Gambit), another steel coaster(anybody know what coaster this is?). A new Batman stunt show, Looney Tunes Land and other unnamed flat rides(used also?).

I bet that second coaster is Shockwave.

It is not Shockwave, in the press release it says three wicked inversions and only 1,900 feet of track. The park already has a boomerang, so what kind of coaster is this?
perhaps an Arrow Corkscrew along the lines of CP's Cork?

Do any of you know how to build a sundial out of a pen and a donut?
uh oh, sounds like someone has a case of the mondays.

How many continuous circuit coasters are there with THAT short amount of track. I know quite a few fall in the low 2000' ft range but under that is hard to understand.

Could this be SFFT's "Joker's Jinx?"

I guess you mean Joker's Revenge

The stats looks like the same and it's SBNO http://www.rcdb.com/installationdetail206.htm

What I meant to say is that it is either 'Shock' or 'Wave.' ;)

I think you might have just found the coaster(the stats almost match perfectly). It is called Joker's Revenge. Go to http://www.rcdb.com/installationdetail206.htm and look at the stats. Anybody know if anyhing is happening at SFFT?

Ah, but if it is JR, will they run the train backwards? I heard it was pretty rough riding that way.

If they only ran it backwards during Halloween-time, then it could serve as two different "rides"....;)

"One of a kind zero-g roll"? Where have they been the last 10 years? Marketing is funny.

It is one-of-a-kind....to the citizens of New Orleans.

I thought a "zero-g" roll was when the Nawlins locals beat the stuffing out of some drunk tourist and got LESS than a thousand dollars....;)

It might be a lanched coaster like mr. freeze or a deja vu clone.

They aren't getting a Deja Vu clone if they already have a Boomerang.

It sounds like Joker's Revenge is going East. :)

Six Flags sure is doing a lot of trading of their rides between different parks lately.

i think it would be kinda strange if their first two coasters were both batman themed

Top 3 Steel:
#1 Millenium Force
#2 Rock N' Rollercoaster (What!? I thought it was fun!)
#3 Manhattan Express

Why would that be strange? Batman and one of his enemies. BAtman needs someone to fight, ya know?

Even if it is SFFT's Joker's Revenge that doesn't guarantee it would have the same theme when it opened at Jazzland. It could be themed to anything.
