Six Flags New England or Lake Compounce?

I was planning on a trip to both parks, but since my mom is a cheap b*tch, she will only let me go to one. I have been thinking about it for weeks but can't make a decision. I really want to get some night rides on Boulder Dash and free soda at LC, but I have been wanting to ride Superman and Batman for a long time too.

I need some help with this, so I am coming to you guys. If you don't want to make the decision for me, just tell me some things you liked about the parks that would persuade me to go there. Thanks a lot.

Go to Six Flags New England. Ride Superman. Over and over. And then make out with it. And ride it again. You'll wish you could offer more love to it than your tongue on the support. It's orgasmic.

+Danny, just kidding... sort of ;)

lighten up on your mom... I hope you're kidding, you little f*in brat! That having been said, go to SFNE and ride Superman. Go early, stay late, get a Q-Bot if you can, but just go...

Tell your mom to go to SFNE where she'll have an awesome day power riding S:RoS. You should stay home and think about all the great things your mom has done for you. *** Edited 6/19/2004 4:09:21 AM UTC by ApolloAndy***

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Be nice to your mom, then head to Lake Compounce. It is more fun, more friendly, and more appreciative of your patronage.
Since it looks like your mom is only able to fork out the two admissions for the both of you to go to a park...

I think your MOM should take in both parks, and leave you sitting in the car with your sweaty face pressed against the unopened windows, watching the rides, but not hearing the sounds they make.

That was a really miserable thing to say about your mother.

Go to neither. Use the money to do what you mother wants to do.

SFNE. Same as reasons above. Ride Batman in back with a few inches between you in harness, airtime in barrell roll.

There are only 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who dont.
Get a job and buy your mom something nice since you're relying on her to pay for your admission.

Give your mom a hug, and then head to the lake. While Batman is a pretty good ride, it is also one of the smallest (and at one time was) floorless coasters out there, you aren't missing much. Plus Superman is overrated, stick with Boulder Dash, a #1 coaster that actually lives up to the title.
Go to SFNE. Truly One of the best SF parks out there. Superman and Batman Alone are a good reason to go. The atomasphere is great and they have a nice handful of flat rides. you won't be let down. I always have a positive trip to SFNE. If you do go to LC just ride boulder dash over and over. As "The Dude" said it is a #1 class wooden coaster that lives up to its potential.(Right up there with Beast)

Which ever one you choose I hope you have a great time and be nice to your mom. You'll thank her in the long run.

Nice sig, Alizabeth. ;)

I'm not a big fan of the overall experience at SFNE. The ops aren't that great, B:DK's station is about as bad as a station can be (though it leads to a short front row queue, so I don't complain that much) and the rest of the coasters are pretty blah. A lot of the fun flats don't open on less busy days. S:RoS often only runs 1 train, and often only opens late in the day.

That said, one S:RoS night ride with the misters makes the park worth it every visit. My top 5 or so ride experiences ever were all night rides on S:RoS.

My vote goes for Lake Compounce. My all-time favorite roller coaster is Boulderdash so it really isn't a hard choice to make.

Overall I think you'd get a better experience. The atmosphere is great. The park is located on the side of a mountain, how much better can you get? I'm sure the admission is cheaper, I remember at the hotel I stayed at I got in for around $23. I think its around $30 to get in while I'm sure SFNE is around $40-45. Plus, free soda so you'll be saving even more money, or use that money to get a shirt!

While SFNE would have more to do ride wise, the excellence that is Boulderdash will easily keep you entertained.

I think you'll make a wise choice either park because I love them both. I've enjoyed all the coasters at SFNE, even the Boomerang. You'll have an excellent time either way, but I vote the Lake.

Do the dishes, clean your room, make dinner, clean the fricken garage with a toothbrush, do everything you can to get to both parks!

NICK I know I won't be leaving here with you
^ It won't happen. The only way I could possibly go is to take the only job offered to me, but it involves WAY too much walking for a lazy person like me...

Sooooo, you call your mom cheap, yet you won't take a job. Shame on you.

So you're saying you would walk up hills 2 hours a day, 5 days a week? No sir, not me. I nearly collapse walking up the hill my house is on. Do that on more than one hill for two hours just hanging up flyers for Papa John's? I'll pass.

WHOA!!!! A 10 hour work week. That would be a tough life for sure........

S:RoS Yes, It is the #1 Coaster In The World....

I learned a long time ago that sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do in order to get what you want. You want to go to both parks, so maybe instead of insulting you mom who is probably working her butt off to raise you, you should take the job, and save to money to pay for addmission to both parks for both of you.

SFNE= Having your shins broken (new restraints) riding the greatest steel coaster on earth. (Mostly) rude employees, lackluster atmosphere, crappy food, looong lines.

Lake Compounce = Riding the greatest wooden coaster on earth without breaking any bones. (Mostly) pleasant employees. Great atmosphere, great food, short (if any) lines. And Garfield (well OK maybe that's not a positive)

Of course I am biased as I can walk to Lake Compounce.
