Six Flags New Coaster

Audioslaved: "I think you are just mad and trying to get even with the kids today because you didnt have good childhood rollercoasters."

Did I say I wasn't for it? Did I say I didn't want kids to have fun in the parks? Did I not say it was a good idea to re-theme the areas because of the unrelatability for todays kids to cartoon characters as old as I am?

Sure I said they have more stuff than I did when I was a kid but, I never said they didn't deserve it.

Dang that escaladed fast can't we all just get along. When it comes to coaster's people get MAD. I'm not taking sides ,but ROLLER COASTIN you need to calm down it's just coaster chat and people say stuff about all of us, you just need to deal with it.

Keep your head high and your coaster's higher.

Dude if you seem very hostile. I always get stuff said about me. You can check tons of forums and it seems like somone always is saying something about me. Last thng was someone got mad at me for saying collossus at mm was my second favorite woody i know i will still take heat for it on this one so just deal with getting stuff said about you

I never said waterpark bacteria was a SF problem. I simply referred to waterparks as bacteria filled. Not an incorrect statement.

Unless you live in a hermetically sealed bubble I'm guessing wherever you're posting from is "bacteria filled" as well. Just sayin'.

In Rollercoastins defense, we are in a period of the longest time Gurnee Great America has ever gone without a major new roller coaster. The previous record holder was the time between American Eagle to Z-Force 81-85. Thats 3 non coaster years. Now assuming there is no major coaster coming to SFGAm in 2007, that leaves us at 4 non major coaster years, a new recrod for the park. Now four years isnt that long compared to some other parks, but it is a getting a little rough for this theme park that is used to so much. Not to mention it doesnt look like theres any major coasters in store over the next few years, so this could be quite a drought to beat in the future.

At the same time however, the park did add one of its most expensive attractions in 2005 (waterpark) coaster or not. Plus 2004 had the addition of the mardi gras section and revolution focusing more on what was previously lacking, flats. Not really sure where that leaves us but its just something to think about.

Superman.... Can it be considered a clone? Sure there are three now but in reality the original design of the roller coaster was for SFGAm. So really SFGAm's cant be considered a clone can it? Just like Batman, thats not a clone, but it is everywhere in the world now. As for supermans popularity, you can't talk about how people dont like the ride, and point out its long lines as a reason they arent riding, because long lines means it is popular. In comparison to many other rides in the park, Supermans capacity is one of the better ones so dont state that as a reason for long lines.

In time, SFGAm will be getting its next huge roller coaster (right?) but for right now you just have to wait. Next year sounds like it will be a well rounded year for additions including a new thrilling experience that I'd be excited about, Operation Spy Girl. Sounds like it is going to be a top notch stunt show. Although you and some other season pass holders feel that SFGAm is getting a little stale, the guests are still coming and enjoying their experience. Correct me if im wrong but I believe that 2005 was one of the top attendence years in SFGAm history. I understand where you are coming from being worried about this coaster drought, but SFGAm will always have more up their sleeve to keep or bring back your interest.

Hobby definition from Webster's Dictionary circa 1964 (I love my Dad's old dictionary). 3) [Rare] a subject that a person constantly talks about or returns to; hence 4) something that a person likes to do or study in his spare time; favorite pastime or avocation

Now, I bolded the words spare time. This means that hopefully no one on here is thinking about roller coasters 24/7. If you do, than it's become more than a hobby, it's obviously an obsession.

A satsified enthusiast: Intamin Fan's definition: A person who buys or rents a car, takes a train or a bus, or flies to another destination that may or may not have Six Flags either in its title or ownership.

It's not that we don't constantly talk about coasters, flats, darkrides and waterparks on here. It's that most of us have learned of ways of coping if we can't get what we want or expect at our local Six Flags.

If you haven't been paying attention (I don't mean this harshly), Six Flags is in a world of hurt financially. For them to keep building huge record-breaking coasters would be extremely irresponsible and could be the death of the chain. Do you want to see Great America become another housing development? I didn't think so.

There are always solutions. When your field of vision gets so narrow that you can't see beyond your local park, you've become unhappy and start playing a record with a needle stuck in a groove.

Two-hours south is a really funky park called Indiana Beach. If you haven't been, take a visit. They may not have any record-breakers, but I guarantee Cornball Express will put a smile on your face, and you'll quickly get back in line.

Ok again how can anyone one can complain about SFGAm. My home park was SFNO which was way worse than almost any other park in the chain. I went every weekend and even though I have been to more than half of the Six Flags parks. I know Batman the Ride and Zydeco Scream(vekoma boomerang) are clones but I never complained. You know what we got in 2005(becuase of Katrina not saying 06) A building for putting spare parts in. I think once Six Flgas begins to rebuild SFNO because they have to thank god. I think it is going to be the model park for Six Flags in the future. So I think you shouldnt complain because your home park will actually have good coasters from the six flags of old. For the moment my home park is Blue Bayou and Dixie Landing. Which is a halfwaterpark which is really good. The only two rollercoasters there are a boomerang and a Galaxi. So dont complain
Recap of this thread so far:

Enthusiast 1-My home park sucks.

Enthusiast 2-My park sucks even more, shut up!

E1-Na Uh My park (insert lame reason for why said parks sucks here) so duh of course my park sucks!

E2-(Insert a rather good retort here) (follow it with a decent reason their park sucks) so obviously my parks sucks and youre a whiny baby

E1-(Completly ignoring E2s proof) Well my park (another lame excuse) so mine sucks more.

Rinse Repeat.
