I have to say the last time I went to SFMM, once in 04 and once in 06, I didn't even see Flashback the entire time while in the park. Maybe I just wasn't looking for it, but it felt like it didn't even exist.

I have ridden it though, back in the 90s.

I have POV video somewhere that I shot on Flashback in 2002. I had my camera in my hand and the operators said "you sure you wanna do that?" and my answer was "why not?".

Little did I know what I was in store for. The video consists of about 35 seconds. It mainly is a bunch of shaking and jarring and some yelling, but the climax of the entire thing is coming out of the 3rd turn the whole thing just goes "BAM!", my wide angle lens detaches from my camera and there's some more shaking around as the camera points down at the floor (and the lens between my feet). You can hear me say "f**k, get my lens, get my lens!!" and then the camera goes black.

Good times. I showed the video to the operators and they thought it was hilarious. The camera and lens made it out fine, though.

That wasn't the only swearing we were doing on that ride, either. Total garbage...

Then, we had the nerve to give it a 2nd ride. I think you might have sat that one out, Greg. :) (he's the smart one, you see..)

That truly was one of the most hilarious rides I've ever taken. It really hurts, and I like rough rides (see: my love for iron wolf.)

In my opinion. Once they find something to put in Flashback's space is the moment the ride will go straight to the oven.

In all honist tro world 2k I do not think that the only thing that will repace it is kiddie coasters for a kiddie ride if sixflags hangs onto the park and trys to turn it around.

Or if the park does get sold and not leveled (I hope it dose not get leveled! i love that place!) I think that a. the owner would do the samething as six flags or b. Try to fix the ride and make it look like its not just a peace of dead junk.

Well it seems like the main complaint about Flashback is that it was a headbanger. And the only way to cure a headbanger is to remove the OTSRs which isn't worth the time and money on a ride that is unpopular and only operates a few times a season. I say remove the ride and let something with more potential take it's place.

Flashback is one of those elusive coasters that I am dying to ride once. Just once. ;)

I KNOW it will hurt and I KNOW it will probably cause the ultimate migraine from HELL like FOF did before they switched to lapbars. :(
