Six Flags Great Adventure to get a B&M mega coaster

Posted | Contributed by coaster crazy

Six Flags Great Adventure has recieved shipments of parts from Bolliger & Mabillard. Photos of said parts were submitted to Thrillride's rumor page. They are at the bottom of the page.

What is the mega coaster. Is it a giga coaster but called mega coaster from B&M?

Go full force, Millennium Force!

i heard that a mega coaster is 400ft+
It's rumored to be between 240-275ft. It seems that a Mega-coaster is that grey area between 225-290ft. I think Goliath fits in that category.

You may get wet on this attraction, you may even get drenched! But can you survive the PLUNGE?
oh ok then I really didn't know
I've also gotta say that I've heard a Mega coaster is Goliath height. This ride is said to be about 250 feet tall. AND I CAN'T WAIT ALL WINTER TO RIDE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
I read the Thrillride report..... it would be fantastic to see a Superman coaster by B&M.....as long as it is different in design than ANY OTHER B&M TO DATE!!!! Think of how well the Hulk uses the launched lift....that would be neat. It would be different that their other lifts, and would give you that wonderful launched sensation! Let's see them build a gigantic version of Raging Bull, only this time mix in more fast direction changes and NO uphill brakes! Geeesh!

And as for colors, I am tired of everything being purple yellow and green! A blue and red B&M would be sweet!

I am trying sooooo hard to remain a skeptic.
I got goosebumps and chills looking at that
green label"Mega Coaster".
Someone is REALLY toying with us!!!!!:):):):)
:):):)

"Jesus Freak"
The coaster is going to be very similar to Apollo's Chariot.
Cool, more B&M hypers are being built.

"DONT FIGHT IT, RIDE IT",,,,RAGING BULL
A mega coaster is the same exact thing as a hypercoaster (200ft-300ft)
Is it possible that someone is pulling a fast one on us? It did come from the Thrillride rumor page. Just a thought.
Who cares what its called. B&M mastered their 2 existing hypers with RB and AC. If this is true than SFGAdv has a potential masterpiece about to be created.

This is going to be one heck of a ride, no matter what color, shape, length, width, weight, pant size, shoe size, hair color or amount of back hair. ;) B&M are the PREMIER coaster designers, and another hyper, whether it be similar to AC or RB, is a GREAT thing! Especially since I get to go to the park for the first time next year and actually ride the thing! WOO HOO!!! I can't wait. Peace. :)
Nobody is toying with you,it is "official",but not announced yet.Look at the pics for yourself

I think another coaster for SFGA is a very bad thing. They need less people at this park, not more. A new major coaster will make things much worse. It shoudn't take an hour just to get a ticket and get into the park.
Intamin Fan: What you just said makes absolutely no sence! :-) You do realize that by adding a Huge coaster it will also increase the overall capacity of the park as well and therefore giving you shorter wait times for Medusa and The Chiller.
At http://www.coaster-network.com/bm/bm/ it says it's going to be a speed coaster. Mega could be just an alternate name for Hyper. *** This post was edited by rct_2000 on 9/19/2000. ***
I stand by my statement. This park is way too overcrowded, even on weekdays. The 25 new attractions last year were supposed to make lines shorter. I think it's that it had the opposite effect. It took a half-an-hour to get through the toll exit, an hour to get through the gate, and another half-an-hour to get food. They need more ticket booths, a better exit off the turnpike, and more effecient food service instead of more rides. Then maybe I wouldn't be so pissed off when I'm at this park.
Then would you like them to simply not add high tech thrill rides for everyone to enjoy and let their park become old and decrepid with no new rides?? :) I have never heard someone say they are upset about a major addition to a park before?? :)
