"Six Flags CEO Faces Tough Climb to Put Theme Parks Back on Track"

I guess the only real question I have about the Shaprio era spending is "Where the hell did all the cosutmes come from?" I mean, where they always at the park and just unstaffed? I mean there are so many characters that I never saw in any of the shows (Petunia, Monster, etc) that just magically appeared. I wonder if they had to have them special made...
I would bet that they were just unused at some parks. If I remember correctly GAdv did have all those characters, as far as the Looney Tunes go, a few years ago and slowly but surely the went away until it was just a few of the main characters.

^ Agree totally. I think the costumes were always there, just the old regime believed you could *successfully* run an amusement park on a "skeleton crew". Ummm, while it IS true that too many multi-million dollar executives can hurt your bottom line, it's HARD (VERY hard) to have an amusement park "over-staffed" with employees making little more than minimum wage...

Food service, clean restrooms, costumed characters, sweepers, ride-ops...have PLENTY of those, and the pleasant experience it creates for your guests makes them want to come BACK! Weird, huh?

Me? Don't know why, but those costumed characters SURE do work their magic on me....makes for a better ENVIRONMENT.

^^^Of course the resident "swamp-dwelling-tree-hugging-hippie" would bring up the environment (insert rolleyes thingy here) :)

BTW: Did you see An Inconvient Truth?

Many (if not most) of the costumes were ordered new for all the Six Flags parks. He really spent an insane amount of money on getting costumed characters out there.

^^ Not YET....too busy watching Jon Stewart and planning coaster trippage...but I still recycle at home, I take care of the office recycling, carpool, etc. Trying to pull off that "think globally, act locally" kinda thing... ;)

gator, listens to more conservative talk radio than the Neo-cons do..."keep your friends close" and all that... :)

Maybe they had to buy NEW costumes 'cause the old ones were eaten by moths over the past 15 years or so... ?? LOL!
