Six Flags America announces Penquin's blizzard riv

*SNICKER*

That picture of the "guests" riding in the raft with their arms stretched upward is hysterical.... gee, if the ride isn't built, I wonder how they got that picture ;-)

I haven't been following the design of these "spinning" rapids rides. So when I first heard SFA and SFAW were installing them, I was curious to see what it actually is. I have to admit I am dissapointed in the *looks* of the ride. Perhaps the ride experience will be better than what I have pictured. Hey if the guy riding it with the long sleeve oxford shirt is enjoying it, then so will others ;-)

Please tell me that they are not using the primary color clash for Penguin's Blizzard River aswell?!! The light blue, black, and aqua worked so much better.

I'm calling all enthusiasts to get out the spray cans on media day.

The rafts, and slide are designed for maximum spinage, apparently one side of the slide is equipped with some sort of rough, velcrolike appliance which makes the rafts spin.

A friend who rode the one in the midwest says, it's a fun ride. We shouldn't expect more than a fun family ride out of this addition.

never met a coaster I didn't ride (except Junior Geminii) :(

I just noticed something about gotham city's layout & ride placement,it seems that the two superhero rides S:ROS & Batwing are located adjacent to each other & with the location of PBR in the field between krypton komet & skycoaster that puts it roughly acroos the midway from JJ.

In short it looks like SFA has seperated the villians from the superheroes as far as ride placement goes & all the villian themed rides are in the front of that section.

I- Fan,there's only one thing worse than getting no new restroom in gotham city & that's no new path out of gotham city & into coyote creek,I hate having to back track all the way across the park to get from one section to the other.

Geeezuz one would think that making 3 slides of the same type more than 1000 miles apart from eachother was some kind of catastophic mistake!

Lets revue what a corporate owned park goes thru to get new attractions and improvements.

A. park marketing dept asks guests what they would like.
B. Answers are submitted to park, and forwarded to corporate.
C. Park submits budget which may include new pathways, and bathrooms and coasters, to corporate.
D. corporate TELLS park what to put in, and what to forget about.
E. park marketing department makes whatever they add sound appealing by hyping the stats of said ride.
F. that's all they get!

For a park chain that is financial trouble to continue to invest in their parks is quite impressive, I'd be happy we're getting something .... so enjoy Blizzard River then go to the bathroom and enjoy a few hours of Batwing and Superman, then go to the Bathroom and enjoy another section of the park.

Yeah, there's only two in the states unless you're counting the Adventureland version which isn't identical to these.

I'm kind of puzzled if they are really going to use the AW color scheme at SFA, but hey this is Six Flags so it's not that surprising.

the ride was purchased for SFFT, and I'm assuming they thought astroworld's was too close, so we got it. I can assure you that we aren't the only ones who think the colors are off, but what corporate wants, corporate gets

deal with it...........

Who didn't see that coming? After all they sent snowglobes to the local media affiliates.

I think it's good for the park. They need some rides in that area of the park. It should fit well, but you know Six Flags. They don't always execute well.
